Conversations with Blaire Crowl

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blaire Crowl

Hi Blaire, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hi! I’m Blaire and I’m the voice behind this gluten-free journey. I have always loved dining at restaurants, trying new food, cooking, and the whole experience. I noticed I wasn’t always feeling the best after eating certain foods so I decided to take a food sensitivity test. The results indicated a sensitivity to wheat. Thus began my story and experimentation of foods without gluten! At first, I was frustrated. The idea of giving up all my favorite foods and eating out at restaurants seemed impossible. But instead of letting that hold me back, I decided to take control and find ways to still enjoy life’s little pleasures—without gluten.

I started experimenting in my own kitchen, learning how to cook delicious, gluten-free meals that didn’t feel like a compromise. As I began sharing my creations with friends and family, I realized there was a whole community of people just like me—looking for tips, restaurant recommendations, and recipes to make life easier and tastier while navigating a gluten-free lifestyle.

Now, I’m here to share all that I’ve learned: from easy recipes, gluten-free restaurant reviews, and everything in between. Whether you’re gluten-free by necessity or just looking to explore the lifestyle, I’m here to inspire you to live and eat well—without the gluten!

Let’s make gluten-free living fun, flavorful, and stress-free!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been a few challenges with my journey. At first, it seems gluten is everywhere—it’s in bread, pasta, sauces, and even in many unexpected places like salad dressings or processed foods. It took time to figure out which ingredients were safe to use and which ones to avoid.

I spent a lot of time researching gluten-free ingredients and discovering new staples like gluten-free flour blends, rice, quinoa, and naturally gluten-free foods like fruits, vegetables, and meats.

Going out to restaurants with a wheat sensitivity or celiac can be intimidating. Over time, I’ve learned how to navigate restaurant menus, ask the right questions, and find places that made me feel comfortable. Restaurants that know their menu and ingredients in their food is extremely helpful. I love finding hidden gluten-free gems in the area! Some restaurants have specific gluten-free menus as well. I do not have to worry about cross contamination since I am not celiac but this is something to be even more mindful of if you are.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
While I have a full-time career outside of my gluten-free content, my passion for discovering and sharing gluten-free foods, restaurant recommendations, and recipes is something I truly enjoy. I’ve dedicated myself to finding delicious, safe options for those following a gluten-free lifestyle, and I love being able to share these discoveries with others. Whether it’s uncovering fantastic restaurant options or perfecting a recipe in my kitchen, helping others navigate gluten-free living brings me so much joy!

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Some of my fondest childhood memories are centered around family vacations and food! I’m fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel extensively with my family, from camping trips to visiting relatives in England. One of our most memorable experiences was flying to Alaska, renting an RV and embarking on a road trip where we had the chance to see glaciers, fish for salmon, and witness the breathtaking beauty of Mount Denali.
