Today we’d like to introduce you to Brenda Garay Alexander.
Hi Brenda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I entered the fitness world when I was 16 years old. I fell in love with both the mental and physical hard work it came with. A few years passed and I decided to make a career out of it. I began teaching fitness classes and then became a personal trainer. Throughout the years of working in the industry, I also fell in love with bodybuilding. In 2017, I competed in my first Bikini competition and realized that this was my true passion and I wanted to strive to be the best at it. In 2020, I competed at a National level where I earned my IFBB PRO card. Having fitness as a platform not only helped me grow mentally and physically but it laid out a path for my businesses. I have now branded myself and have my own personal training & posing coach business called Believe It Fitness, and I am co-owner of a fitness clothing company, Wolfgang, with my best friends.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road was not always easy. Just like any job in this industry, you have to work hard and hustle to be the best. There were many obstacles along the way, but I put my trust in God and He provided every step of the way. We all struggle in the industry whether it be money, motivation or consistency there is always a struggle, but perseverance is what helps you be successful.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a professional Bikini competitor, coach, personal trainer, and business owner. I help women all around to reach their fitness goals. Whether it be to get on stage or just get healthy, I believe every woman should walk around with confidence and self-love. I am most proud of being able to live by example. I had a dream I believed in and worked hard towards it and it has slowly come true. The best part is that I am still not done. My hope is to inspire at least one person to pursue any dream because it CAN come true!
How do you define success?
Success is the ability to keep going and not giving up. Being able to get back up after any setbacks and persevere until the goal is met.
