Today we’d like to introduce you to Cambryn.
Hi Cambryn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Cambryn, and I’m a 24-year-old rapper from Hammond, Louisiana. Growing up, music was my passion, specifically work from artists like Mac Miller, Tyler, the Creator, Joey Bada$$, etc. These artists provided me with a sound far different than the gritty, dirty south rap I was born into. From my first-time hearing Mac Miller’s ‘Frick Park Market’, I’ve been addicted to carving out my own sound and making the best music possible. For the longest, my rap skills were a hidden talent, but when I was gifted an opportunity to go the studio at the end of my senior year of college, I took it and ran at a very pivotal point in my life. Since then, I haven’t looked back and never plan to as I rise to the top.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the better, my journey has been one with both great highs and underwater lows. But through them all, I’ve stayed calm, focused, and eager. I feel as though it’s imperative to pace myself on this long road and not let good nor bad distract me from where I need to go.
Without a doubt, the biggest battle I’ve been faced with is inspiration. There are times when I want to write, but the inspiration isn’t there, and I’d rather stay silent than put out some bullshit. But I have the only way to grow is to write through those walls until I can get out my best work. Along with creative blocks, gaining support can be a massive and anxious burden. Early on I’d find myself uneasy on whether my work (music, posts, events, etc.) would connect with my audiences. Over time, my confidence grew, my work got better, and my fears were alleviated. Even now, I still live with uncertainty, but I embrace it and use it as a tool for growth.

2. The two things I’m most proud of are my dedication and community. There’s nothing on this planet that can distract me nor hold me back from my dream and I’ve seen myself countless times give music my all and wake up the next day just as ambitious if not more than I was the day before. On the other side, I’m beyond proud of the community that I’ve organically built around me. They’re all great, loving people who I can’t say thank you to enough!
3. I can’t speak for what sets me apart from others because my only focus is what’s going on in my sphere. But I can say that the people around me and listeners love my unwavering charisma and fearlessness to be myself. Even with a muzzle on the dog, I would find a way to bark and howl at the moon. Clip my wings and lock me in the cage; the free bird in me would find a way to break out and soar. All that being said, I’m me, and the people love it.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Just as wild as I am, I’m equally as focused when it comes to getting what needs to be done. Like I said earlier, I’m DEDICATED.
