Conversations with Charles Sapp

Today we’d like to introduce you to Charles Sapp

Hi charles, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My name is Charles Sapp and I’m a writer. I grew in Houston and played football at the University of Houston, but writing is my first love. I’m on a journey to continue evolving as a songwriter and tell more impactful stories. My most recent album, ‘Summer Street’, tells stories about overcoming and resilience of the heart.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My road has been smooth with lots of twist and turns. I’m fortunate for all my experiences growing up and I wouldn’t change anything. It all goes into the stories. My father was in prison, my mother had two jobs, my grandparents were educators, and I had to self-learn societal cues on being a male.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a songwriter. The ‘Worn In’ song from my most recent album is growing in popularity. I have several bad ass projects coming out in the next month.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Life is meaningless, unless you follow your own path.
