Conversations with Chef Travis Cooks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Chef Travis Cooks.

 Chef Travis Cooks

Hi  Chef Travis, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Background was in medical, but there was transition period, and the rest was history.

I’ve been in the food industry for 9 years.

Started in the catering side of the business by doing wedding packages, etc. began in 2015

2017-2018 – built a successful meal prep division when meal preps were just barely a thing in Houston. Gained a lot of traction by getting introduced to bodybuilders, pro athletes, high-profile clientele

From there till now I’ve just positioned myself and have been fortunate to basically fully transition into all private working for families/clients/athletes solely.

But I also do private bookings for dinner parties or any occasion as well

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Being married and divorced

Like any profession, some fails jobs that create ups and downs, but you learn the lessons needed and always work yourself back to where you were or better is the philosophy any business owner has done

2019 took me away from work for a year due to severe illness

So, having to come back from that and regain and find new clientele was a process and hardship, but having prior experience, I knew how to work smarter to get where I needed

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Private chef for hire. For date night dinner for twos, brunch bookings, dinner parties up to 20, event catering of any size, seafood/crawfish boil catering, etc.

Specialize in meats of all kinds – grilling, smoking, etc. seafood, and southern dishes, Italian pastas, and Mexican.

Known for top-of-the-line steaks and BBQ, Louisiana-styled crawfish, pastas, and some other American cuisine favorites

What sets me apart … my ability to jump right into any environment perform well for clients, and to be able to have the charisma needed as well to make your guests you’re cooking for at ease and look forward to a great evening of cooking and socializing

Alright, so before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you, or support you?
Work with me… simply just reach out, and I’m an open book and always open to work to learn or teach …as many others with me over the years.

Collaborate- share interest in my work, and let’s work

Support me – just if you follow me or know me in any way, refer me to friends, family, colleagues, etc., or book/order from me yourself.

Any of that goes along way
