Conversations with Cheyenne Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheyenne Jones.

Hi Cheyenne, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
During the lockdowns, I was able to tap into a part of me that I didn’t know was possible, I started making candles and giving them out as gifts, at first. Soon after, I made an online shop and sold it to stores and people around the country.

And to be honest, what really got my business going was doing markets around the city! I started doing small local shows at beer gardens and now have ended at more than 50 events in several towns.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not. There have been times when I definitely wanted to give up. I’ll never forget my first full market season, I was NOT ready, scrambling just to make sure I had enough items for my table!

I learned A LOT through all the stresses this business has put me through, and so so thankful for all the knowledge I can apply to my life outside of business too. Despite all the bumps in the road, I feel very thankful for all the people who have boosted me up and helped me along the way. Because of them, I can be confident as I walk down this path.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in handcrafted soy candles, but not the boring candles you can find anywhere. Each candle is adorned with handmade, shaped wax melts, botanicals, and crystals to make one-of-a-kind designs. One of the products I just can’t seem to keep in stock is my Hekate Candle, scented with Lavender & Ashes and decorated with a shimmery moon and amethyst, as well as fragrant lavender buds.

I believe what sets me apart from others in the same specialty is pure art, enchanting fragrances, and a tinge of cute & spooky vibes. I put my full heart and loving care into these candles to make sure you have the best experience from start to finish.

What were you like growing up?
To be honest, I was a complete nerd and still am! I was playing Nintendo games before I could remember and was obsessed with Pokémon, anime, comic books, vampires, and whatever else a kid from the 90s could love.

I drove my parents insane when I didn’t want to go enjoy the good old southern country air; and I was very much a homebody, chatting on MSN messenger with my besties from all over the world. Another part of me loved to write stories and draw, I always felt very creative even back then!
