Conversations with Christina Muegge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Muegge.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started shooting concerts in 2003, then stepped away from photography when I joined the Marine Corps. In 2016, I picked up a camera again to photograph Summerfest for HollywoodChicago.com, and that really brought me back into it.

Not long after, I started TKR Imagery. The name comes from my two oldest kids and my nickname, Tina. They were a big part of what pushed me to build something of my own and keep moving forward.

Today, I focus on event photography and documenting the people, energy, and moments that make each event unique.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like a lot of small businesses, TKR Imagery took a hit during COVID. I relocated to Texas in 2022 and had to rebuild my business in a completely new market.

Then, in late 2025, I left a domestic violence situation and found myself rebuilding again, both personally and professionally. That experience changed a lot for me. It reinforced how important resilience, adaptability, and independence are.

I’ve had to start over more than once, but each time I’ve kept moving forward. That mindset is a big part of how I approach TKR Imagery today.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
TKR Imagery specializes in event photography, especially corporate events, conventions, festivals, immersive events, and community gatherings. I focus on capturing the energy of an event as it actually happens — the big moments, the candid interactions, the details, and the people behind the scenes.

What sets me apart is how I work. My background in the Marine Corps taught me to be prepared, observant, dependable, and calm under pressure, which translates well into fast-moving event environments. I understand that organizers need more than good photos; they need images they can actually use for marketing, social media, sponsors, and future promotion.

I’m most proud of continuing to build TKR Imagery through every stage of my life, especially after having to rebuild more than once. The business has become proof to me that starting over doesn’t mean starting from nothing.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I think the biggest thing I’d want people to know is that it’s okay for your path to change. Mine definitely has.

I’ve stepped away, started over, moved across the country, rebuilt my business, and rebuilt parts of my life too. Through all of that, photography has remained something that keeps pulling me forward.

TKR Imagery means a lot to me because it represents more than a business. It represents growth, resilience, and creating something meaningful for myself and my family. I’m excited to keep building it, meeting new people, and documenting the moments that matter to them.
