Today we’d like to introduce you to Comedian EJ Rogers.
Hi EJ, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My first interest was in music I started when I was 15 years old and throughout the years I became a better writer, from music and in my videos, I would always add or be comical…so I started to take interest in comedy and ran into cookie hull and she took me under her wing and took me on the road ..and ever since I hit the ground running doing both getting on any stage I can!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Yes and no- I’ll say yes because this is what I want to do and be as my profession ..no because getting strangers accustomed to who you are as an individual and to understand where you’re coming from because the world could like it or not!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an artist at heart , behind the mic I’m very creative ..and as far as the comedy and acting I’ll say the same thing I always try to make each moment count when I’m on the camera and when I’m doing stand up I try to bring my world to the audience! The most thing I’m proud of ..is me staying consistent and not giving up regardless of all the obstacles.
What would you say has been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Don’t burn any bridges and respect the craft and the people in it! Learn and listen as much as you can.
