Conversations with Daniel Adebayo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Adebayo.

Hi Daniel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
Throughout high school, I was naturally fit, but had no sense of fashion and my confidence level was below average! I felt like the AUD (Odd) person out of the group even though my goofiness covered up a lot of it. Attending Sam Houston State University boosted my confidence a little bit more while I was working full time at one of the many prisons in Huntsville, TX being able to afford and fund the kind of lifestyle I envisioned for myself in terms of fashion and figuring out what works for me. After graduating college with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, I stayed in Huntsville for an extra year and decided to move back to Houston shortly after that year.

I’m sure everybody is wondering how did you transition from working at the prison to having a clothing brand. I definitely thank my friends and family for the support and deep discussions we had about life and not accepting the bare minimum. It all started during the COVID era when we all received our first stimulus check. My initial plan was to splurge the whole check lavishly on complete nonsense, but before I could do so one of my other friends called me and threw a business proposition my way. With the mindset I had I was ready to refuse and turn it down so fast because of the fear of the unknown of what could happen next, but the words of wisdom from the discussions I had before pushed me to test the waters and that is exactly what I did. Who would have known that the car business was going to pave the way to many more business ventures and open my mind to a new world I was not to familiar with called entrepreneurship.

AUD Apparel clothing launched on August 11th, 2021. AUD Apparel is what you make it in your mind and what you believe and stand by. Are U…..Determined, Dedicated, Destined, Disciplined, etc., some of the things and attributes to make one confident and AUD, daring to be different. Throughout my life (mainly college) the gym was my second home and helped me slowly build my self-esteem either in the gym or in general wearing streetwear clothing. AUD Apparel allows you to be who you naturally are free of judgment. With the ideas and opinions of my friends, AUD Apparel became official and is still growing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely has not been an easy journey, but that is expected when it comes to business. Thinking like a consumer and not like myself has really helped me along the way when it comes to AUD Apparel. Coming up with new designs and different color schemes has been challenging and I most definitely had long nights of trying to figure things out. With saying this, I still enjoy what I do and know that every obstacle/challenge I am currently facing and have faced is not forever and will not stop me from giving my customers what they want and currently looking for when it comes to AUD Apparel clothing.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am currently a supervisor with Harris County Juvenile Probation Department and this falls in line with my Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice working with the youth. I believe I am known for my professionalism and how I carry myself at work remaining level headed and my work ethic as well. I am most proud of my growth, where I am today, and where I am going to be in the next couple of years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Being able to help others and brighten their day. Being selfless has always been a thing for me and how I was raised because I consider it pure joy seeing others elevate and smile. Knowing that you are being used to help others will most definitely brighten up my day.
