Today we’d like to introduce you to Delicacy Studios.
Hi Delicacy, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well firstly, My name is Mr.Delicacy and I have a company called Delicacy Studios and under that I do stand up comedy, create clothes, photography, host shows/parties and a variety of other things. As to how it started I have always been the kind of person to have my fingers in a lot of pots and by that I mean I’m always doing a ton of different things. And it is something I leaned more as I have grown older. I thank God for that. The stand-up comedy aspect of is something that came naturally I have always been asked the question bro have you ever considered stand up” but due to my stage fright and me feeling inadequate to be able to even brave such a thing I constantly shrugged it off. But as God would have it an opportunity arose and I took it. I truly believe that I s what I was put on this planet to do. The joy I get from making people laugh or smile or momentarily forget their problems is almost unmatched. now as for the other aspects of Delicacy Studios (comedy and hosting is a relatively new aspect of it) it actually came from a dark place. About 2 years ago June I was considering suicide due to the fact that for the first time in about 4/5 years I had lost my job and I felt as if I was useless to my family. And as the oldest son in an african community there’s a lot of pressure to be perfect. within those months I turned to prayer and coincidentally my mother stumbled upon a library that has the technology to make clothes and I had already previous graphic designing slightly. and I began to work.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No it hasn’t really been a smooth road. Learning different techniques of making people laugh, or of making clothes or needing a new camera/lens can be tedious and time consuming. But when its something that you genuinely like to do the interest sort of outweighs the hard works.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I do photography, stand up comedy, voice acting amongst other things. I am most recognized for my Instagram content where I make jokes based on race. I am proud of the people that have come to me and recognized me in public. It hasn’t happened a crazy amount of times but everytime its a blessing especially when I usually forget about having a decent amount of followers. I think what sets me apart is my multiple sources of comedy. I have a YouTube channel where I react to African songs and give a funny spin to it, I have a tik tok where its basically just rants and what not. My unique mindset, my consistency, God on my side, my gentle spirit and always keeping my mind open for other opportunities,
How do you define success?
I would define success being able to take care of my family comfortably from doing the things that I love. to do. I would define success as doing the thing that you were brought here on this planet to do. So I guess fulfilling your purpose is success
