Today we’re excited to be connecting with DeNeka Dove again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
DeNeka, we are so thrilled to be connecting again and can’t wait to hear about all the amazing things you have been up to. Before we jump into all of that, some of our readers might have missed our prior interview, so can you take a moment to reintroduce yourself?
I am DeNeka C. Dove the owner of Touch of Pizzazz Salon, I am loctician and natural haircare specialist. I hear my clients tell me often the reasons they return to me as their stylist, from how I take care of their hair from start to finish, scalp and hair treatments are relaxing, as well as a comfortable space to relax. I have truly enjoyed servicing my clients because I take pride in learning what they like and what they need. We build a strong foundation for many years that includes being involved in their lives and events.
Alright, so our main goal today is to give our audience an update on what you have been up to since our last conversation. We’d love to hear how things are going and what you are most looking forward to or excited about these days.
Touch of Pizzazz has made a conscious effort to improve on product knowledge, continuing education, as well as communication. The everyday operations have been condensed to a more personal experience and allows for the working professionals to get things done with work and projects. My clients have busy schedules and the accommodations for what they have to accomplish are respect in how I carve out time to provide services.
In the year of 2025, Touch of Pizzazz has been committed to showing up in the community in programs, events and community service. I currently serve as the Seargent-at-Arms and Chaplain of Citywide Beauticians and Barbers Association. The organization has been in the community for 80+ years serving barbers and stylist as well as the communities we serve. “We are here for the health and wealth of the communities we serve,” as a coined phrase by our current president Kim Aitch.
One of the best parts in providing services to the community is that I take part in changing lives through putting on awesome events, providing hairstyling and makeup for programs and events, and just being the change I want to see.

What are you most excited about in the coming year?
I am most excited about the people I will be working with, events that are coming up and the memories to be made.
I am grateful for the opportunity to work with city leaders, thriving businesses and programs that will impact our communities in tremendous ways. The foundations of community have appeared to dwindle with the changes of time and focus; however, there are many people I know that are still doing the work to impact change.
My hope for my participation in community events and programs are to enhance the lives of our underserved, single parent families and youth programs. There is so much we can do to effect change for the better and no other way besides watching is to get involved.
The way we make people feel can greatly bring a hope for a better future. Inspiration and motivation spark a desire to become better. I have had opportunities to lead events that has reminded me how much I matter, and this is necessary for the future we are all seeking to live in.
