Conversations with Destiny Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Franklin.

Destiny, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a child growing up, Fashion has always been something I’ve found a huge interest in that just came natural to me. It’s what made me genuinely happy. From observing Fashion Designers to keeping up with the latest trends and putting pieces together so effortlessly, I knew that styling was something I wanted to pursue. There was an instant spark and bond between the two that just gave me confirmation on what I was destined to do and simply become in this world.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Nothing in this world is easily given. You’re going to endure those obstacles; it’s all a part of life. Those stepping-stones that you worry about so much or you think you’re not going to get through, those are the most valuable moments that I feel we should cherish the most. Not only do they allow us to build character, but it’s a daily reminder for us to never lose sight of who we are, why we started, and why we shouldn’t give up so easily.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My name is Destiny Franklin, and I am a virtual stylist. I am currently attending Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for Graphic Design. My overall vision represents authenticity—being UNAPOLOGETICALLY yourself, going against the fashion ‘rules’ and standards by simply expressing that by mixing colors, patterns, and textures on all of my clients.

What was your favorite childhood memory?
Family road trips was always something I looked forward to doing growing up as a child. Not only was I able to spend quality time with my immediate family, but it was always a pleasure of just exploring the world as a whole.
