Today we’d like to introduce you to Ebonie Feast.
Hi Ebonie, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve always loved cooking! I love cooking for family and friends and watching them eat and enjoy my food. I began to love it even more when my little two-year-old daughter Aaliyah was born. She rather my cooking than fast food, haha! My specialty is my gourmet deep fried deviled eggs. The people love my eggs. I was inspired by trying them at a couple of different restaurants and I decided to try my own recipe. They were a hitter on the first try. My family and friends loved them so much I began taking orders after making one post on Facebook. I thank God for giving me the vision to me for something that was just once a hobby. I can’t wait to see where God is going to take Monae’s Southern Savory next!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
So, now the road is rather smooth. This can be bad and good because when I first started orders were booming, coming in like crazy and I didn’t really know to manage all the orders, working a full time job, and being a new mommy. Through the past 3 years, I’ve been able to find a balance and move more smoothly.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a full time employee of the Harris County District Clerk’s office in the felony criminal courts division. I am also a professional dancer and I travel and dance with the Stacy J and Unified Dance Company. I teach dance as an extra hobby and I also mentor teen girls. I love helping others and making people happy. I am most proud of my daughter Aaliyah who is 2 going on 3 going on 33, haha! I specialize in being who I am and treating others with the upmost love and respect. I love what I do and I can’t wait to see what my future has in store for me.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I believe taking healthy risk can be very beneficial. Sometimes you just have to have faith and just “jump” in the words of Steve Harvey. Time waits for no one. Live life to the fullest and if you feel it in your spirit to take risk, do it! That is the only way to find out what’s on the other side.
