Today we’d like to introduce you to Eden Meeks.
Hi Eden, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My photography journey began when my daughter was just nine months old. Like any mom, I wanted to capture every little detail, but I also wanted to elevate those everyday moments. Simply hoping to improve her pictures, I took a few photography classes. Along the way, a couple of families asked me to take their photos, and what started as a small favor quickly turned into something more.
I never set out to build a photography business, but as word spread and more families reached out, I realized how much I loved being behind the camera. Five years later, what began as a personal passion has grown into something so much bigger than I imagined. I’ve had the honor of documenting milestones, watching families grow, and preserving so many special moments!
Photography began as a way to capture my daughter’s story, but it has become my way of helping others tell theirs.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Honestly, it really has been a smooth road for me. From the very beginning, I’ve been blessed with the most supportive and kind clients who have made this journey such a joy. I’ve never run into obstacles that made me question whether I should keep going…instead, each session has only affirmed that this is exactly where I’m meant to be.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in family portraits, newborn sessions, and cake smash sessions. Treasured milestone moments!
What I’m most proud of, though, isn’t just the images themselves, but the experience I create for each client. I know that being in front of a camera can feel vulnerable, so I make it a priority to guide my clients through every step…whether that’s posing, helping them relax, or simply making the session feel natural and fun. Over the years, many of my clients have become friends, and I think that sense of comfort, connection, and joy is what truly sets me apart.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
Whether it’s a newborn’s first days, a child’s birthday, or a growing family, those moments are worth celebrating and remembering. I feel so honored every time a family invites me in to capture their story, and I never take that for granted. My hope is always that years from now, when they look back at their photos, they’ll not only see how they looked but also remember how they felt in that moment!
