Conversations with JaiRenee McCoy

Today we’d like to introduce you to JaiRenee McCoy.

Hi JaiRenee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey in content creation began during my freshman year of college when I was a student-
athlete at a community college in rural Illinois. I started by posting TikTok’s before game days,
which became my first real experience with people engaging with my content.
COVID was still at its peak at the time, and only a few schools were allowed to play basketball
games. This led me to build and engage a community of basketball lovers who missed watching
their teams play and just wanted to enjoy the game, no matter who was on the court.
From there, I started securing NIL deals here and there. Many weren’t paid, but I was excited to
have opportunities to support new businesses by trying and advertising their products. That was
when I realized how much I enjoyed creating content, filming, editing, and sharing my
experiences. It became something I truly wanted to continue pursuing.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
One of the biggest obstacles I have faced since starting my content creation journey has been
finding my place and resisting the urge to compare myself to others in the field. It’s easy to feel
lost when the people you admire—those you follow and aspire to be like, reaching milestones
like buying homes, getting new cars, or even figuring out how to retire their parents. Watching
their success unfold can sometimes make you question your progress and wonder if you're
doing enough.
However, I’ve come to realize that there is room for everyone in the world for content creation
and social media. This shift in perspective has allowed me to embrace my path and appreciate
the beauty of growing in a natural, organic way. If we all had the same story, the industry would
lack diversity, and creativity would suffer. The truth is, that we all have different backgrounds,
struggles, and journeys that shape the way we approach our craft. Those differences are what
make each of us unique—and what makes our content relatable to someone out there who
needs it.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

How do you think about happiness?
Vlogging is something I genuinely enjoy—it brings me so much happiness, from filming salon
services and nail care to capturing store runs. I love sharing my daily activities and bringing
people along with me. It’s exciting to showcase the products and brands that are a real part of
my life, allowing others to see how I use them and the roles they play.
As a woman, I prioritize taking care of myself both mentally and physically. I love journaling,
indulging in at-home skincare with all the tools, and pushing myself in workout classes—even
on busy content days. Every aspect of my life is something I cherish, and I’m continuously
building the best version of myself.
If even one video encourages someone else to take better care of themselves or start investing
in their overall well-being, then I’m doing something right!
