Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road to success has certainly not been smooth for Princeee Jay, and like many entrepreneurs and creatives, he has faced his share of challenges along the way. While his passion and drive have been consistent, the journey has been marked by moments of uncertainty, sacrifice, and the need to persevere in the face of adversity.

One of the earliest struggles was the decision to pursue his dreams and relocate to Houston, Texas, in 2017. Moving away from his family and support system in Tulsa was a leap of faith, one that required courage and a willingness to step outside of his comfort zone. Adapting to a new city, a new environment, and a more competitive landscape was undoubtedly daunting. However, it was also a necessary step to further his education and career aspirations.

Throughout his academic journey at Texas Southern University, Princeee Jay encountered the challenges of balancing a demanding course load with internships and real-world experience. There were moments when juggling multiple responsibilities, like managing coursework, working full-time, and gaining hands-on industry experience, felt overwhelming. However, he found ways to push through by prioritizing his goals and staying focused on the long-term vision.

Another significant hurdle was breaking into the competitive worlds of fashion styling and content creation. While Princeee Jay was honing his skills, gaining knowledge, and building a network, there were times when the path seemed unclear or slow to progress. Establishing credibility in the industry often meant putting in extra hours and sometimes working for little to no pay to build a portfolio and gain experience. Yet, these challenges taught him the importance of networking, self-promotion, and persistence.

As an entrepreneur, Princeee Jay also faced the typical struggles that come with running a business, such as securing clients, managing financial uncertainty, and constantly adapting to an ever-evolving digital landscape. The demands of running a digital marketing agency while maintaining his work as a fashion stylist and content creator required excellent time management and the ability to wear many hats at once.

Despite these struggles, Princeee Jay’s resilience, willingness to learn from each setback, and determination to keep moving forward have been integral to his success. He credits much of his growth to his ability to network, build relationships, and consistently apply his diverse skill set, no matter the obstacles. Each challenge has only strengthened his resolve, ultimately helping him to carve out a fulfilling and successful career.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m passionate about merging creativity with entrepreneurship, and my work reflects that. As a fashion stylist at AKIRA and the founder of my own fashion brand, I specialize in curating unique, bold, and trend-forward looks that empower people to express themselves confidently. I’ve always believed in the power of fashion as a form of personal expression, and through my styling work, I aim to help others feel their best while telling their stories through clothing.

In addition to my work in fashion, I’m also deeply involved in content creation and digital marketing. Through my digital marketing agency, I provide services such as website development, graphic design, video production and editing, and social media marketing. My goal is to help brands elevate their online presence and connect with their audience in meaningful ways. As a content creator, I produce videos, photos, and digital content that reflect my passion for style, culture, and creativity, blending my expertise in photography, videography, and social media to produce work that resonates.

I’m most proud of the way I’ve been able to integrate all my different skill sets into one cohesive, multifaceted career. From being able to blend digital marketing with virtual fashion styling to creating content that reaches and inspires people across various platforms, it’s been rewarding to see the impact of my work on both individuals and brands.

What sets me apart from others is my versatility. I’m not just a stylist or a content creator—I’ve cultivated a wide-ranging skill set that includes entrepreneurship, digital marketing, video production, and design. This allows me to approach projects with a holistic perspective and execute them in a way that brings together multiple elements of creativity and strategy. I believe my ability to wear many hats gives me a unique edge, allowing me to offer a more comprehensive service to clients and collaborate with brands on a deeper level.

At the end of the day, what sets me apart is my commitment to learning, evolving, and always pushing myself to improve. I don’t just focus on one area of expertise; I’m constantly looking for ways to expand my knowledge and diversify my work. This commitment to growth and the willingness to step outside my comfort zone is what truly drives my success and helps me make a meaningful impact in everything I do.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is the value of resilience and persistence, especially when facing uncertainty or setbacks. In the creative and entrepreneurial world, it’s easy to get discouraged by obstacles—whether that’s the challenge of breaking into a competitive industry, dealing with rejection, or facing moments when success feels out of reach. However, I’ve come to understand that perseverance is key.

There were times when I questioned my path or wondered if the sacrifices I was making would pay off, but pushing through those moments of doubt is what has truly shaped me. I’ve learned that success isn’t always a straight line—it’s full of twists, turns, and moments of learning. Embracing failure as a learning opportunity, rather than a setback, has been crucial. Each failure or difficulty taught me something new about my craft, my business, and even myself.

Additionally, I’ve learned the importance of patience. Success doesn’t happen overnight, and growth is often gradual. I am being interviewed for Voyage Magazine Houston when I don’t have millions of followers and have been discouraged due to no growth but, now I am being seen, heard, and recognized. By focusing on continuous improvement, staying true to my vision, and consistently showing up, I’ve been able to make steady progress toward my goals.

Ultimately, resilience has been the driving force behind my ability to keep pushing forward, adapt to new challenges, and ultimately achieve success in my diverse career.
