Hi Jerome, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Well, I’m a Chef and have been for a while now. My wife is a huge fan of the Louisiana style Praline. So it started off as kinda of a bet she wanted to see if I could make them since I was back and Cater. So I did through trial and era and, it became a signature of mine. That’s where my nickname came into play DaPralineman. After the original Praline became a hit I ventured off and made several other flavors like Eggnog, Salted Caramel, and a Chocolate one. After that, the Candied Pecan became a thing a has become a huge seller.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Yes, it’s been smooth, but just like any other business, you have your peaks and slow points. I love my customers and catering to satisfy their Taste Buds.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Of course, I’m the owner of J.Bells Tastie Pecan Pralines which is my signature, but I am also the Chef, and owner of Southern Gentleman Catering. I started the catering company after the Praline business. I’ve always cooked and sold food, but it was overdue to start my own company. I’m known as being Dapralineman that’s become my signature here in Houston. I’m proud of the progression of both businesses and plan on more future success and maybe even a food truck, or restaurant.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
5-10 to years I see a food truck or restaurant in the near future. I take great joy in providing quality food, and service to those that love to eat. We also take pride in the tasting experience for our customers whether or not it’s Pralines or quality food.
