Today we’d like to introduce you to Kahlilah Thomas.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Brooklyn NY is where I’m from I’m the only child so I was very spoiled my mom got me any and everything I wanted.
Growing up I always had a thing for fashion my mom has always been the main inspiration I lost her when I was 19 years old and before she left she always encouraged me to stay strong & follow my dreams it all started when I was young my mom was a fashionista I used to always play dress up in her clothes this is when she realized I had a true passion for fashion. I was always the best dress in school and had all the latest drops on the kicks I was the only kid in my school with a pink mink fur coat cause back then that’s when everybody was rocking chin chillas so my mom was surprised me for my birthday with a fur coat & that’s when I knew I was going to be a problem….
Originally I started with my lash brand to get my feet wet and experience being my own boss and then rebranded my lash brand into my clothing brand “killemkloset” I decided to take that big step and get my LLC 2020 unfortunately being your own boss doesn’t always come easy. I started killemkloset working out of the trunk of my car in Richmond VA my business started to grow in my local town I gained a lot of buzz off of my brand that’s when I started to build my own at-home store available for delivery and or pickup 2021 I moved to Atlanta for growth this is where I decided to open my first killemkloset boutique location. Living in Atlanta I realized we were all offering the same things I knew right then and there that I had to switch it up I had to STAND OUT so later on that year Oct 2021 relocated to Houston Texas where I opened up my second location what I did differently this time joined promo teams to meet different people and promote my brand I eventually started looking for new manufacturers & started using my platforms on social media and took off after that. In less than a year I’ve grown so much in Houston Texas my sales are incredible I get so much support here from so many different ppl that I don’t know because they see my hard work and dedication.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all … I used to sell stuff out of the trunk of my vehicle. having to put more in than I was getting. Having to close down my first location because of shady business with the property managers. Wanting to quit because everything seemed like it wasn’t working out in my favor.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I make music as well I’m on all streaming platforms “Killemkaayy” I’m known for my “drive” I’m a natural-born hustler I can walk in a room full of strangers and leave my mark I draw people to me naturally… I have a natural charm that is welcoming to people it allows me to promote my brand it allows me to turn chump change into big bills my true goal is to surround myself with like-minded people.
People who are not afraid to fall and get back up people who know how to take the risk to get to where they want to be with no handouts! Because that’s me that’s my life and I’m just getting started!

To be honest with you…. prayer got me where I am today. It was never luck.
