Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Hornberger.
Hi Kelly, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I starting shooting weddings almost 20 years ago after having our first son. Now, 18+ years later, I have three sons in Highshool, an amazing husband and an incredible team of photographers working under the KHP brand. We shoot beautiful weddings in Houston and all over the world as well and gorgeous families and celebrations worth documeting!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. Covid was insane, and the reason my team started due to all the reschedules and crazy amounts of bookings that we needed to fill. I also have been a mom the entire time I have run the business. My husband and I are 50/50 with parenting, but we could not at all afford help with little kiddos. So thank the lord for amazing friends and family, it take a village, to raise amazing sons and grow a business while my husband was in ministry. We struggled through it, working MANY late nights and early mornings but not sacrificing important time as a family.
We had MANY hight and MANY lows, but I wouldn’t change a thing. Learning so much forom the lows to really cherish the highs!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We specialize in fine art documentary photography. As the principle photographer, I shoot mostly film with my work and my team shoots all digital, with an option for film add on.
We highly focus on weddings, but LOVE portraits, corporate, events and video work as well.
