Hi Laricia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
Laricia is an R&B – POP Singer/Songwriter from Temple, Texas. She is a part of “BUY MONEY ENT” a new wave of Undeniably talented artists on the rise. Her passion for Music stems from her father’s musical talents she witnessed growing up in her hometown “TROUBLE-TOWN”. Her dad owned a club called “Club KACH$$NG” Where she and her brothers “A-SLAB” and “LAQUINZO” from the “DHS BOYZ” at the time would get artists like “LIL RONNY” from Dallas, Tx, and other southern acts to go perform and party. Laricia’s dad “KASINO” was a musician from the South who was heavily influenced by Houston’s music culture in the early 2000s, and later joined the group “ADYKTED SOL”. Her oldest brother “LAQUINZO” started doing graphic’s for Artist in the south in his teens and has now done cover art’s for some of the biggest artist’s in the Rap game under the name “MOZOART”. All of these things Inspired Laricia and her younger siblings to pursue a career in Entertainment. Laricia participated in choir, theatre, and talent shows throughout her teen years and began singing the National Anthem at school games and other community events like fashion shows and pageants.
Laricia is not only a vocalist, she is a true performer. The way she is able to capture and control an audience with ease is mind bottling and a site to see. She is not afraid to break barriers and hop on any kind of production. She is currently preparing to make global charts and has received Latin Sync placements for ‘ESPN” and “Buchanan’s Whisky”. She has played lead acting roles in videos like LIL NAS X, DRO KENJI, MELII, and 6LACK and is eager to land a Movie and Tv show role. Her love for music and the ability to share her songwriting drove her to LA after high school. Los Angeles, California is where she gained most of her fans from dropping her first single “NOT ME” in 2019 and posting covers on Instagram. After Struggling in LA during the pandemic, Laricia made her way back home to the South and decided she would reside in Houston, Tx alongside her “BUY MONEY” Distro Label colleagues to continue broadening her musical literacy.
Mostly excited to collaborate with some of her favorite LA and Central Texas artists. Her main goal this year is dropping her “TROUBLE TOWN” Ep where she dives a little deeper about who she is and the different characters she’s had to play to get to where she is today. With hopes of growing a loyal fanbase. Laricia was recently featured on “Blow The Whistle Radio” by host and Artist “TOO SHORT” And has recently performed at venues like “House of Blues” Foundation room in Houston Tx, Harbor NYC Rooftop, and festivals like SXSW & Miami Art Basel. She is featured on “Capital Gains” by Artist STOCKZ hosted by Rolling Loud “DJ FIVE VENOMS”. The future is very bright for this star. I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Relocating from Los Angeles, California to Houston, Tx during the pandemic was definitely a big curveball for me.
Getting to know a whole new city and getting that city to recognize you as an artist is a lot of work, but with the help of my amazing team, I believe 2023 is mine.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
The thing I am most proud of is my Voice! The vocal ability god gifted me was not by accident, Not only do I have the freedom of speech to say whatever I feel, but I have the voice of an angel. I have the power and control to capture an entire room’s attention with just 1 note, and that’s something I never want to take for granted. I believe I was put here to give other people who may not have that same freedom a voice for them as well.
I can do Voice overs, and sing in accents and different languages and multiple genres. The goal is to continue to feel free with the direction of my music and voice
What were you like growing up?
Personally, I never felt like I fit in anywhere and always felt like an outsider that was misunderstood. I always had a small intimate circle of friends but everyone knew who I was because of my brothers. I was an athlete, an only girl of 4 brothers who loved hanging out with the older crowd.
Started working at 15 due to my mom being a single mom, so I grew up pretty quickly. Quietest in the room but “you know that saying” I picked up really fast on my perception of life.
