Today we’d like to introduce you to Martina Goudeau
Martina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I began my career in 2002 by obtaining my medical assistant certification and quickly began working in a medical dermatology practice learning and building my knowledge and passion of the skin. This was the foundation of my journey into the world of aesthetics. From there, I knew I wanted to specialize further and expand my knowledge. I continued on by graduating from the prestigious Aveda Institute with a certification in Esthiology., and pursued certification at the Texas Laser Institute, where I became trained in laser hair removal, Microneedling, and Microdermabrasion.
As my skills developed, I sought to learn about cutting-edge, nonsurgical procedures. I attended Coolsculpting University, where I obtained certification in nonsurgical fat reduction. This opened up new opportunities to provide advanced treatments like Ultherapy, Coolsculpting, EON, and Thermage. These experiences helped me become highly skilled in facial and body contouring, as well as nonsurgical aesthetic treatments.
Along the way, I was fortunate to work alongside some of Houston’s most prominent dermatologists, gaining invaluable expertise in advanced dermatological treatments such as Photo Dynamic Therapy and the Xtrac Excimer Laser. These experiences have helped me understand the complex nature of skin care and the importance of personalized treatment for each patient.
My love for skincare is further reflected in my deep understanding of top-tier skincare products such as Hydrinity, Revision, SkinCeuticals, SkinMedica, and Skinbetter. Over the years, I’ve developed the ability to customize skin care routines and treatment plans that address each patient’s unique needs, helping them achieve their skincare goals and boosting their confidence.
In addition to my certifications, I’ve always focused on professional development and continued education. I’m constantly updating my skills and knowledge to stay ahead of trends in the aesthetics industry, ensuring I can provide the best possible treatments and results to my patients.
Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of how far I’ve come. My journey has been driven by my genuine passion for helping others achieve their skincare goals. Every step I’ve taken has been with the aim of making my patients feel better and more confident in their skin. And, while my professional life is deeply fulfilling, I always make time for my personal life — whether it’s enjoying stage plays or spending time with my family and my Shih Tzu, Carmelo.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There has definitely has been challenges along the way by working with a variety of personalities and in creating a team that works together to accomplish the overall mission of the aesthetic practice.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I perform various facial and laser treatments for all skin types and skin concerns such as Acne, Rosacea, Melasma/skin discoloration, skin rejuvenation, non-invasive facial contouring and laser hair removal.
I specialize in treating all skin types and I am known for creating unique treatment plans for my individual clientele.
I am proud of the wide-range of specialty aesthetic services I provide and the satisfaction and success for each patient.
I feel as though with being a women of color and with my years of dermatology and aesthetic expertise I have mastered the art delivering positive results to my clientele.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
My advise to those who are beginning there skin care journey I recommend they attend as many trainings and/or aesthetic courses as they can. Never stop growing and evolving in your education.
