Today we’d like to introduce you to Mikey Robert.
Hi Mikey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello, I’m Mikey Robert, living in Corpus Christi, TX. My life has been woven together with experiences that define who I am today. Finding the perfect starting point is a bit challenging.
My passion for music blossomed when I was just a 12-year-old boy. Different genres from soft rock to top10 music captivated me, drawing me in and igniting my creative spirit. At the age of 14, I received my very first set of drums—an exhilarating moment that marked the beginning of my musical adventure. I can still vividly recall my mom’s half-serious, half-amused request when she said, “Please, mijo, only play them when I’m not home!” It still brings a smile and a laughter remembering her words.
Fast forwarding to when I turned 18—a milestone that brought my very first performance. I took the stage at a small local club, feeling a mix of adrenaline and nerves as I prepared to play for an audience of about a dozen people. Among them was an unexpected guest: a lively parrot that squawked louder than our PA in the background. Despite the audience, that night felt awesome! Over the years, I have been fortunate to play with various bands, each collaboration introducing me to incredibly talented musicians, including my dear friend and musical brother, Mr. Roger Torres. Our shared experiences have enriched my musical journey in countless ways.
Reflecting on my childhood, I realize that it was a treasure trove of joyful memories. If I were to describe my upbringing and neighborhood, it would be takin to the classic film “The Sandlot,” filled with friends, laughter, and adventure. My friends and I spent countless hours riding our bikes, trading baseball cards, and building treehouses that served as our secret hideouts. We also had a spirited old dog named “BOB” (Big Ole Beast), who was tied to a tree in our neighbors yard. BOB was a loyal guardian, barking fiercely at anyone who approached, adding a touch of mischievous excitement to our youthful escapades. As we grew older, life took us in different directions, leading us to start our own families. However, we have managed to stay connected, cherishing the bonds formed during those carefree days.
As with any journey, life has its share of challenges. My path as a father began in 1990, filled with dreams and visions of a bright future. Sadly, the relationship with my son’s mother didn’t flourish as we had hoped. Youthful decisions and misunderstandings led us to part ways, but we chose to remain friends for the sake of our child, emphasizing the importance of co-parenting. As time unfolded, I met another woman (my daughters mom) and found myself falling in love again. She had children of her own, and I embraced the opportunity to step into their lives as a father figure, welcoming them with open arms and an open heart.
At first, our relationship felt like a beautiful dream, filled with laughter and shared moments. However, about 3 months in, jealousy began to rear its ugly head, casting a shadow over our happiness. During a heated argument over something that now seems trivial, I was preparing to tell her how I really felt about the jealousy. Before I could voice my thoughts, she shocked me by announcing that she was pregnant. In that moment, I chose to hold my tongue and remain, hoping to support her and our growing family. Unfortunately, that decision marked the beginning of a tumultuous chapter—one filled with accusations, infidelity, and emotional strain that stretched on for twelve long years.
I moved on, I found a great job at USDM as a web programmer in which I was on a team that created websites for travel tourism sites like; Toronto Now, Emerald Isle, Sevierville, Gatlinburg, Dollywood, Atlanta Underground, Mall of America and a few others. Not only was my job exciting, it allowed me to learn how to code more complex sites than when I first joined the agency. I learned so much and little did I know I would be applying those skills way later in life.
Thru the years at USDM, my daughter’s mom was still in the picture trying her hardest to get back together with me and was failing at it each time she had tried. In early 2009 my ex threw felony charges on me and went to court. During these court hearings, I was fighting her on a civil case visitation rights battle involving my youngest daughter. After months of civil court hearings, I signed a decree and won rights to have my daughter visit me on holidays and every other weekend. It was the happiest day in my life, unfortunate I never did get to have those rights. On November 19th, 2010 I started a 10 yr prison term but only served 6yrs 9mths & 3days. This is where my story will begin on the book that I’m currently working on named 6-9-3.
A year after my release from prison in 2017, I started working for a local law firm here in Corpus Christi as an IT Tech in which I’m still currently working for them and maintaining their website. I started a hobby In 2022 by creating a radio station and ran it without any problems until my partner and I had a differences of opinions and I left creating a station of my own. Cyber-X-Radio was created in late November 2025 with AI artist & Organic artist in mind. I have a passion for music and would love to help every artist I can to get heard. At this moment, Cyber-X-Radio is currently in 69 countries with certain countries like France having over 19k listeners! This is a hobby for me and totally enjoy it. I am expanding the genre with Country Outlaw, Passion (power ballads), Power Worship and Country streams while in hopes of hosting AI videos and who knows, perhaps a “film”?
I need to keep my mind busy due to my health that turned bad on Sept. 4th of 2024 I had a triple bypass and just recently I had my leg amputated below the knee due to gangrene on Dec 6th of 2025. Even though my journey has been one big roller coaster ride thru life, I try to remain positive and not take life too serious simply because from taken from my experience, “tomorrow is never promised”.
After weathering those difficulties, I managed to find a new sense of hope and love with a wonderful woman “Cheryl”, I feel a sense of purpose and passion for my life & work that I hadn’t experienced in years. With my new partner by my side, life transformed into a comforting routine—a soothing balance that allowed me to finally feel a sense of peace and contentment in this journey called life.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My struggles were relationships and health issues along side battling depression and anxiety
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I have been a web developer since 1998. I started this simply because at the time I had a recording studio there at the house in which I had converted my 2 car garage into. Alot of artist were asking me if I knew how to create websites to get their music and pictures heard and seen. With web design came the creative information and advertisements so, I started learning Photoshop, in which I still use that of today. Thru my web design journey, I also started getting into the IT Tech of it all by building computers and so forth, little did I know I was about to land my very first Tech Web Programming job later in life. Along IT Tech work, I landed my second professional job with a law firm (Ysassi & Ysassi Law Firm) in Corpus Christi, Tx. as an IT Tech and web designer. Im also the owner of Cyber-X-Radio in which Im very proud of and also allows me to take my mind into another realm as also Dj Chaos “crazed dj that plays the hits world wide”!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I would like to see my dream ultimately come true by having these wonderful and talented artist heard world wide along with an indie label I would like to incorporate along the way.
