Conversations with Noubia Castrillon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noubia Castrillon.

Hi Noubia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Wealthy Hustla started this year while I was dealing with personal relationship issues. I figured I could be down and out about the situation or use that pain as motivation. I don’t know much about fashion but I thought a clothing line would be something to challenge my imagination. I quickly started thinking about a name for my clothing line.

Around this time, I was thinking about how I always would hear people talk about being rich but not a lot of talk about being wealthy. I was reading about creating generational wealth for my kids. I also thought about my past of once being in the system for my involvement in criminal activities to make money. I thought about how I was once a young single mother and I had to hustle and make sure I provided for my child. I also thought about how my sister and I would hustle and sell brownies in high school. While the term “Hustl’n” can sometimes be frowned upon, I believe that if you get up and go to work every day, if you make ends meet for your family, if you make something out of nothing, you’re a Hustla.

So, I thought well, I’m now working towards Wealth. I’ve pretty much been a Hustla all my life, whether it was in an ethical or non-ethical way. I’m going to be wealthy Hustla. So, I decided that why not come out with different tees with sayings to express myself and motivate others to be one too. It also means that no matter what you’ve been through, where you are in life or where you’re going, it doesn’t exempt you from wealth.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Honestly, it has not been a smooth road at all. I’ve dealt with bad business relationships. Losing thousands of dollars due to poor business decisions. Feeling like this isn’t my lane. I’ve felt like giving up so many times. Although I’ve dealt with those struggles, I’m thankful that I experienced them at the beginning.

I’m more aware of what not to do to avoid making those same mistakes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Outside of my clothing line, I’m a Chief Financial Officer. My passion is administrative work. I started as an office assistant in 2008. Over the past 10 years, I was a personal assistant, administrative assistant, executive assistant, and now CFO for the same employer.

I’m pretty much known for getting the job done and getting it done right away. I’m most proud of who I am today. God gave me not only a second chance at life but multiple chances to live out my purpose and help people along the way.

Any big plans?
My plans for the future are to grow my clothing line. I’m looking forward to a worldwide business one day. I’m currently in the process of rebuilding my brand and I plan to relaunch very soon. Stay tuned!
