Hi ORIANE, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I moved to Houston 8 years ago, and honestly, it’s been a rollercoaster ride. Coming here alone, in a foreign country, far away from my family, I had to build myself up from scratch. It was here that I truly started my adult life, and many of the “firsts” I’ve experienced happened in this city. Houston shaped me in ways I never expected and helped me find my path in life.
I started on social media in 2022. At first, I was just posting for fun, but then, unexpectedly, my page started growing. One day, I blinked, and I had my first brand deal! At first, I felt a bit cringey about it, unsure of how people would perceive me, since social media isn’t always viewed as a “normal” career. I didn’t realize at the time that I was resisting something that was actually meant for me. Sometimes, when you’re meant to do something, no matter how hard you push against it, you’ll always end up back where you’re supposed to be.
Today, I’m proud to say that I’ve overcome that “cringe” phase, and I embrace my content creation journey. I treat it like a 9 to 5, and I feel so blessed to be able to do what I love every day, just by being myself.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road has definitely not been smooth. When I first came here, I experienced everything from the honeymoon phase to facing the harsh reality. One of my biggest struggles was the language barrier. French is my first language, so learning English in America was a whole different experience. I was extremely shy about speaking in public and even failed a public speaking class in college. But here I am now, pushing through that fear. Another challenge I faced was socializing and finding the right people to surround myself with. Building genuine connections in a new place can be tough, and I had to really figure out who I wanted to be around. It wasn’t easy, but those struggles shaped me into who I am today.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I graduated with a bachelor’s in business management, and now, I’m system administrator and a content creator, and I’m also diving into my YouTube era as a professional yapper.
What I’m most proud of is how far I’ve come in my content creation journey, especially considering the challenges I’ve faced. I’ve turned something I once felt “cringe” about into my full-time career, and now, I’m proud to call my job “being me.” It’s a blessing to inspire others to do the same.
As a little Frenchie building a community in America, that’s huge for me, very few people can say they’ve done that. What sets me apart is my authenticity and the crazy confidence I have to go after what I want. I focus on being true to myself, and that resonates with my audience. My journey hasn’t been perfect, but it’s been mine, and that’s what makes it special.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
Something surprising that most people might not know about me is that I’m actually a big overthinker and a perfectionist. Despite how confident and outgoing I may seem online, I’m constantly analyzing and striving to get things just right. It’s a side of me that I don’t always show, but it’s definitely part of who I am.
