Today we’d like to introduce you to Quanilla Strong who goes by Quin.
Hi Quin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After several years of being a Paint and Sip Connoisseur I began hosting Paint and Sips in my home. This allowed my sisters and close friends an outlet during the pandemic.
In January of 2021, I hosted our annual Vision Board Girls Night! On my vision board I included a quote from an article that read, “You are far too valuable to work a 9 to 5 for 50 years!” This quote resonated with me as I had always known I wanted to become an Entrepreneur; however, I was uncertain of which path to take. I kept in mind how my maternal grandmother (whom I’ve lost to COVID-19) telling me how I needed to create a legacy for my identical twins, Braxton and Bentley. After praying over my vision board in hopes of bringing it to fruition, about 45 days later I received an email from Painting With A Twist’s Headquarter Office offering information on becoming a Franchisee. I vividly recall the title of the email asking, “Are you tired of your 9-5?”
I was.
The rest is history in the making… here I was at 32 years old, an Independent franchisee and sole owner of Painting with a Twist – Clear Lake, Texas!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road has not always been a smooth one. One of our biggest challenges has been the lack of consistent reservations. Our strip mall recently lost our anchor store and we, like the other businesses around us, are seeing a change in business. However, I have a strong team and we are persevering by continuously finding creative ways to increase business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We offer step-by-step recreational painting classes. Our classes are taught by professional artists while allowing you to indulge in your alcoholic beverage of choice! (that’s the twist) In short, we’re a paint and sip art studio.
I am most proud of our company’s motto, to create a carefree escape for our guests – that is what we do! The level of service and grand experience that we provide is what sets us apart from the others!
What do you like about the city?
I absolutely LOVE Houston for always having a variety of events to attend. There is always something to do in H-Town!
