Today we’d like to introduce you to Rachel Sheffield.
Hi Rachel, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Creativity found me at an unexpected moment. As a child growing up in Eutaw, Alabama, I was forced to slow down after getting into trouble and being placed on punishment. With nothing else to do, I picked up a sketchbook and discovered that I had the same artistic gift as my mom and big sister. That discovery ultimately shaped my future. What started as drawing cartoon characters evolved into a passion for creativity and design.
Years later, after moving to Texas and earning both a Certificate and an Associate of Applied Science in Visual Communication Graphic Design from Lone Star College-CyFair, I decided to bet on myself and build a business centered around service, creativity, and content creation. Rather than pursuing a traditional design career, I launched Rachel Designs to help entrepreneurs and small businesses create brands they could be proud of. On May 15, 2026, I was honored to celebrate six years in business, serving clients across multiple states while continuing to grow through creativity, community engagement, and meaningful connections.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been a smooth road. Like many entrepreneurs, I have faced challenges along the way, particularly when it came to learning the business side of graphic design and marketing my services. As a self-taught entrepreneur, I had to step outside of my comfort zone, invest in my education, seek mentorship, and learn through trial and error.
Another challenge was shifting my mindset from focusing on social media likes and views to understanding the importance of consistently showing up and sharing my work. I learned that success is built through persistence, visibility, and building genuine relationships within the community. Every obstacle has taught me valuable lessons, and those experiences have helped shape both my business and my personal growth.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am the founder and creative force behind Rachel Designs, a graphic design business specializing in custom logo design, branding, marketing materials, and visual identity solutions for small businesses and entrepreneurs. My passion lies in both content creation and helping people transform their ideas into professional, memorable brands that tell their story and connect with their audience. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to create logos, websites, brochures, banners, product packaging, invitations, and other marketing materials for clients across multiple states. I have also expanded my creativity by offering branded merchandise and ready-to-go designs through our Redbubble store.
What I am most proud of is building both my platform and my business from the ground up. Through consistency, hard work, and a commitment to showing up authentically every day, I have grown Rachel Designs into a trusted brand while cultivating a loyal community both online and in person.
What sets me apart is my passion, aura, authenticity, and accessibility. While graphic design is my profession, many people connect with me through my content creation, community involvement, and the positive energy I bring wherever I go. Whether I am sharing my entrepreneurial journey on social media, attending local events, supporting fellow businesses, or creating relatable content, I strive to inspire, educate, and encourage others. People know they are getting the real Rachel—someone who is approachable, positive, creative, and genuinely loves and appreciates her RD Community.
I believe great design is about more than visuals; it is about building relationships and creating meaningful connections. My goal is not only to help clients bring their visions to life but also to leave a positive impact on the people who follow my journey, engage with my content, and support my brand.
What does success mean to you?
I define success as having the freedom to be authentically myself while making a positive impact on others through my gifts and talents. Success is not measured solely by money, followers, or recognition, but by the lives I touch, the relationships I build, and the opportunities I create for myself and others. For me, success is waking up each day doing what I love, staying true to my values, and continuing to grow personally, professionally, and spiritually while helping others bring their visions to life.
