Conversations with Sacred Arts Tattoo Studio

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sacred Arts Tattoo Studio.

So excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Beto. I am the owner of Sacred Arts Tattoo Studio. I have always liked drawing and painting since an early age. I started getting into tattoos while in high school and I just fell in love with it. I started tattooing when I was 15. I was tattooing friends after school with homemade tattoo machines and needles. Then I started tattooing at a flea market for a while. After that, I apprenticed under Houston tattoo artist Danny Blu, then went on to work at Aztec Ink, Last Laugh Tattoo Studio and Gold Rush Collective. I learned a lot while being at all these different places and working with very talented artists. When I was 24 I was able to open Sacred Arts and have been open for 3 years. In these three years, I have been able to grown my team by adding some very talented artists. Sacred Arts. My team is made up of Hector who specializes in large scale black and grey realism and some color tattoos, Manny who specializes in script tattoos, Richie who specializes in traditional tattoos, Vik who specializes in large scale black and grey realism, Gustavo who is our expert body piercer and myself who also specializes in large scale black and grey realism tattoos.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This has definitely not been a smooth road to where I am today. There has been a lot of ups and downs and time and money invested to get to this stage in my career. Thankfully I was able to overcome all the lows and take the positives and turn it into a business.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
My business is a tattoo and body piercing studio that specializes in black and grey realism, traditional and script tattoos as well as all types of body piercings. We are known for offering quality work over quantity. I think what sets us apart is that we treat everyone like family not just another customer and we always strive to offer the best service possible. I think what we are most proud of is the success we have had as a team here at Sacred Arts. We can’t wait for the years to come.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think all business owners are somewhat of a risk taker or else they wouldn’t have a running business. I definitely took a risk when I decided to open my own tattoo studio. Thankfully everything has worked out in our favor and we’re able to offer our services to the Houston area.
