Today we’d like to introduce you to Semjase Law.
Hi Semjase, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve lived in Houston for the better part of my life. In my teens (13-17), I bounced around a lot between Houston and East Texas. My mother was bipolar and at certain times of the year would be worse for her (Fall & Winter), so we decided I should go stay with my grandmother in East Texas. I returned to Houston a few months before my 18th birthday and I was fortunate enough to participate in an early high school graduation plan. after which I enrolled in a community college and had no idea what I wanted to do. I jumped around different arts and science degree plans, and eventually chose general studies. I then enrolled in University of Houston and would graduate with a PPA in business.
I started employment as a staff accountant, but I quickly realized how unhappy I was. One weekend while visiting with friends, someone mentioned creating online content. I thought about it and decided I would start creating a presence on social media to promote the content I was creating on YouTube, Twitch, and Mixer. I continued working as an accountant but in the evenings I would stream, create video content to upload to my YouTube channel, and promote anywhere and everywhere.
I established a loyal and consistent viewer base while increasing engagement and interaction. I was able to generate a decent income which led to me making the decision to quit my day job. I moved into creating online content on a more regular, full time basis.
It was so exciting. The more content I put out the more money I would generate. It’s an amazing feeling seeing your work appreciated and sought out.
Unfortunately, my mother was diagnosed with colon, liver, and lung cancer. In a very short amount of time after being diagnosed, she would pass away (on her birthday). The cancer had spread to her brain, creating what the Dr. said was, “more little tumors than you could count”. My father passed away in 2012, my grandmother in 2013. I felt more alone than ever.
I went into a deep depression. The content creator’s “internet-grind” was weighing on me and I started to feel burnt out. For most, It can be a lot of work when you’re first starting out. It gets increasingly stressful as you grow and you are exposed to more and more people (good and bad). At this point, I was without any help (monetarily, mentally, emotionally, etc) and eventually my content and schedules began to get set back more and more.
I needed a break from the online world. In the late months of 2019, and early months of 2020, I started a virtual accounting business. As you know this was a terrible time to start anything as the pandemic was right around the corner. Covid arrived and within a month I was losing all my clients and not bringing in more as I had hoped to do. I decided to adapt and began providing assistance with applying for PPP loans, EIDL, unemployment, and anything to help people remain afloat But, those funds didn’t last long for the majority of people. including myself, and I could not maintain and establish a more consistent client base. I had to make money, so I decided to go back to the online world I had stepped away from.
I went back to creating online content. I knew it would be like starting all over because I had been away from it for so long. I knew if I got the right help it would be worth it. I was able to get a large amount of assistance with the editing, graphics, social media presence, technical support, hardware and software setup, etc.
Things are running much smoother this time. I couldn’t be happier with the growth I am seeing. I’m creating content on Twitch, YouTube, and other platforms to get my content out there. It’s always a lot of work but having people to help me with some of my projects makes a big difference this time around. I’m having a blast with this experience and loving the creative control.
There is no manual or guide to creating online content. Going viral or becoming famous is very situational and never guaranteed. It also doesn’t translate to consistent income, more traffic, or new opportunities. There are some that tell you they can make you go viral or get you rich quick, but there is no real guide or map to any of it.
I’ve studied the hermetic sciences and the metaphysical world since I was 14, but never really thought of incorporated that into my online content until recently. Having to get creative with making money during the pandemic has made my return to streaming and content creating much more successful.
If I had one wish it would be for everyone to know the feeling of ultimate freedom. The ability to help others while doing something you are passionate about is the most gratifying and fulfilling thing you can ever experience. I have so much more to accomplish, but I am more excited than I have ever been.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Something I find most challenging when working for yourself is staying motivated. Sometimes growth slows down or you’re not where you expected to be, and returning to creating content after an extended break is like starting over.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I had an accounting firm, but business died down during covid and I decided to return to creating online content. I also work in the Hermetic Sciences doing natal charts, numerological profiles, and reading tarot.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?

I love studying the metaphysical world and anything that helps me understand my purpose. The universe is made of sound and everything around us vibrates at different frequencies that affect how we feel and act.
