Conversations with Shaniece Sutton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shaniece Sutton.

Hi Shaniece, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve always been creative and moved differently I never really followed what everyone else was doing. I learned to trust my own rhythm, and that naturally led me to create something that felt true to me.

That mindset is what led me to start Kairos Home & Body Collection in 2019, which I officially turned into an LLC in 2020. What began as a creative outlet quickly became something more intentional. I realized I didn’t just want to make candles I wanted to create experiences that made people feel something: comfort, calm, and a true sense of home.

The name “Kairos” means God’s timing everything happening when it’s supposed to, with intention and purpose. That meaning isn’t just my brand, it’s a testament to my story learning to trust timing, embrace the journey, and understand that everything unfolds the way it’s meant to be.

I built Kairos HBC on the idea that luxury doesn’t have to feel out of reach it can feel like home. As I’ve grown, the brand has grown with me. It’s become more than candles it’s about intentional living, creating experiences, and giving back through Uplift Kairos HBC, the community-driven division of the brand.

As the brand continues to evolve, every step forward remains grounded in my original vision to create an affordable luxury experience that invites people to unwind, get cozy, and feel at home, and to be a reminder to never give up on your dreams.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. It’s been challenging, and honestly, I still go through trial and error even now. But I’ve learned that’s just a part of being an entrepreneur how do you grow if you’re not learning along the way?

In the beginning, I was figuring everything out in real time learning the business side, understanding what works and what doesn’t, and pushing through even when things felt slow or uncertain. There were moments where I questioned things, but I always came back to why I started.

Over time, I’ve realized that those challenges are necessary. Growth takes time, effort, and patience and everything I’ve gone through has shaped not just the brand, but me as a person.

It’s still a journey, but I’ve learned to trust the process, stay consistent, and keep going because anything meaningful takes time to build.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
What do you specialize in?
I specialize in curating intentional spaces and experiences centered around relaxation, comfort, and healing the same things that helped me personally. From affirmation blankets and journals to candles, skincare products, signature mugs, and even curated playlists, every detail is designed to encourage people to slow down, reset, and simply be present in the moment. I focus on creating experiences that feel luxurious and meaningful while still remaining accessible and approachable.

What I’m most proud of ?
Being able to watch my brand unfold in real time. It’s truly a blessing to see your creativity, ideas, and hard work resonate with others. There’s something powerful about realizing that what you created from a genuine place is becoming meaningful to people beyond yourself. I’m especially proud of how the brand continues to grow and stretch beyond what I originally imagined. It reminds me that the products and experiences we create are not only wanted, but needed. Despite the hardships and challenges I’ve faced along the way, Kairos HBC has truly been a reflection of “God’s Timing.”

What sets me apart?
What sets me apart is that my brand isn’t just about products, it reflects parts of my real daily routine and personal journey. I’ve experienced both the highs and lows of life, and during difficult moments I found myself leaning more into affirmations, prayer, stillness, and intentional self-care. I needed balance. Something as simple as getting fresh air, lighting a candle, writing my thoughts or prayers in a journal, sipping tea, and allowing myself a moment to breathe became a form of mental reset for me. Those small moments helped me regain clarity, peace, and focus, and that became the foundation of Kairos HBC.

What’s next?
Looking ahead, I’m focused on continuing to explore and expand the business in a way that feels intentional and aligned with the brand. I want to grow Kairos HBC beyond just products and really deepen the experience it offers.

A big part of that is building a stronger community presence creating spaces, partnerships, and opportunities where people can connect with the brand in a more meaningful way. Whether that’s through events, collaborations, or initiatives like Uplift Kairos HBC, I want the brand to continue making an impact beyond what you see on the surface.

I’m also looking forward to expanding into new opportunities, including wholesale and more curated experiences that bring the Kairos HBC vision to life in different settings.

Overall, I’m excited about growth not just in scale, but in purpose, presence, and impact
