Today we’d like to introduce you to Sharon Ann
Hi Sharon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a child, I can remember having a proclivity for singing. At that time, of course, I had know clue what it would evolve into. I just knew it was something I loved to do!
Here we are, 20+ years later: a Milwaukee-born artist, mother of an incredible young man, my heart, Kevin Jr., model, actress and creative whose journey and successes are a direct result of God’s goodness and grace!
I’m a songwriter, worship leader, vocal producer/arranger and musician whose 20-year foundation was built serving at my parents’ church – Committed to Christ International Ministries in Pantego, Texas. I currently serve as Worship Director at The Lighthouse Church and Ministries under the leadership of Pastor Keion Henderson.
For the past 10 years, I’ve honed my gifts and as a result, been blessed to evolve and minister on some of Gospel music’s biggest stages with some of the genre’s well known artists, including Tye Tribbett, Tamela Mann, Fred Hammond, The Clark Sisters, Marvin Sapp, Donnie McClurkin and Israel Houghton.
As a songwriter, I’ve written for Tye Tribbett (Bloody Win “Mighty”, “I Want More”), Jonathan McReynolds (People, co-writer on “Best Thing”) and James Fortune (Dear Future Me “Here2Hear”). As a Grammy-nominated vocal producer and arranger, my credits can be seen on Martha Munizzi’s latest album (Best Days 2021) and Sunday’s Best Winner, Grammy Nominee, Melvin Crispell III live album (No Failure) I’m also featured as co-lead on Glory To God Forever for Tye Tribbett’s Grammy Award Winning Album “All Things New” (Live in Orlando)
From 2022 to 2023 I’ve released two singles; “Peace Be Still” which is accompanied by a powerful visual that tells her journey from trauma to triumph and “So Good,” which bridges the musical styles of 70’s funk and contemporary gospel. Working with celebrated Grammy-award winning producer Asaph Ward, I’m eager to unleash this sound & style: one that will invigorate the Inspirational/Gospel music landscape. The first full length album is anticipated to release in 2025.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I went through a traumatic experience in my childhood that tried to rob me of my voice, my confidence and courage. I struggled to believe in myself, my talents and abilities. I struggled with the belief that my life had a purpose. It followed me into my adulthood. I eventually grew tired of battling with thoughts that said I wasn’t good enough, I was incapable or didn’t serve a purpose. I latched on to this scripture Jeremiah 29:11 (ESV) 11 “I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. They are plans for peace and not disaster, plans to give you a future filled with hope.” It reminded me that God knows me. He sees me. He cares for me immensely and loves me unconditionally. This was my turning point. I begin to see myself through the eyes of Christ. I grew to have a greater appreciation for my life, my voice and the uniqueness I possessed as a creative.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I haven’t had time to explore much since relocating a short while ago. However, since that time, I’ve come to love the creative ambiance I’ve witnessed in various areas of the city. The music scene is vibrant and eclectic! I could do without the tropical storms, hurricanes, floods and traffic.
