Conversations with Terry Woods

Today we’d like to introduce you to Terry Woods.

Terry Woods

Hi Terry, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m from a small town called Athens in Alabama, and at the age of six, I gained my love for fashion. I remember my very stylish mother dressing my sister and I in many different fashionable clothes, which made me gain my eye for colors and patterns. It would later lead on to me modeling at the age of 17 in NYFW. I then began to be around the elite in the fashion industry and became more acquainted with the fashion styling side of things, and I would spend my 20s styling/personal shopping for celebrities. Things slowed down a bit due to covid where I would later move to Nashville, and things began to pick back up where I became a stylist for a known brand Louis Vuitton. I’m now on a venture to move my many talents here to Houston as a new fashion stylist and personal shopper.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Every day hasn’t always been easy. I’ve had some very highs and very lows. I’ve had $50 clients and $3000 dollar clients. I would say self-care is a must, and I do mean physical, mentally, and spiritual. I couldn’t mention the height of my career nor the lows of my Career without mentioning God because I know by his grace and mercies, I am who I am today.

Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a fashion stylist that specializes in everyday fashion as well as luxury retail. I personal shop for all different kind of person just depends on your needs. I’m most proud of my willingness to be a servant, and I most happy when my client is happy. I think me being a Capricorn sets me apart from others (haha) just joking, but my uniqueness and my aurora sets me apart from others. I look at all of my clients as celebrities; everyone is a star. In my eyes.

I’m also currently working on a brand set to release in September called the “WORKING GIRL.” It’s a place for all nightlife needs, such as bottle girl, bartender, bar back, security, club staff uniforms, etc. I’ve Bartended in many cities, such as Nashville, TN, Atlanta, GA, and Huntsville, Al. So, I’ve been a member of the nightlife community for quite some time on and off.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is so much greater than being at the top of your career. I think success comes from within and being at peace with yourself no matter where you’re at in life. Some millionaires feel successful if they make a million dollars that day, and the homeless man feels successful if he eats that day. Success if about being happy and making the best of what you have.
