Conversations with Toni Cramond

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni Cramond.

Toni Cramond

Hi Toni, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
My interest in real estate started in 2003. I was laid off from my job in corporate America and was trying to decide what to do next. I was also a single mom of two young children and decided to pursue a career in education due to the schedule and stability. During my career in education, I taught 1st-3rd grades, became an intervention specialist, and earned my principal’s certification. In 2020, the pandemic shut the country down, so I decided to use that time to enroll in Champions School of Real Estate. I fell in love with real estate, and I passed my state and national exams on the first try! I was a dual career agent for two years before making the leap into full-time entrepreneurship. I started with Keller Williams, and in August 2023, I switched to my current brokerage, The Collection Real Estate, powered by JLA Realty. My team is amazing, motivating, and inspiring!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I have been extremely blessed with supportive family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers. Almost as soon as I passed my real estate exam, one of my friends reached out to me to help her find an investment property, so I kind of hit the ground running! I was a dual career agent during the first two years of my career, and so many of my educator friends became my clients. That was such a huge honor! I had built a 15-year-long career as an educator, and as I was moving in a totally different direction, the people that I had worked with and beside for so many years in a different capacity trusted me with one of the biggest and most important purchases of their lives. As my real estate business grew, it became increasingly more difficult to balance both careers. My job in education was very demanding and I was getting up early, staying up late, and working weekends writing offers, touring communities, showing homes, providing value to my clients, and growing my real estate business. However, I was exhausted mentally, emotionally, and physically. With the encouragement and support of my husband and family, in June 2023, I made the decision to leave education and focus solely on real estate. It was terrifying removing the safety net and stepping out of my comfort zone but exhilarating and freeing at the same time! Every day is a new day, and no two transactions are the same. Real estate can be a roller coaster ride, but I love roller coasters, so I’m here for it!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar with what you do, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a full-time realtor licensed in Texas. I live in The Woodlands and although I have clients all over Houston, my primary service area is North Houston – Conroe, Montgomery, Magnolia, Spring, Tomball, Splendora, New Caney, etc. I work with buyers and sellers in every stage of life, from first-time buyers to retirees that want to downsize and have every price point. I have the following designations: Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE), New Home Construction (NHC), and Military Relocation Professional (MPR). I am currently pursuing my Seller Representative Specialist (SRS) designation.

One of the things that I am most proud of is my client service. I start every transaction with a consultation, and I make it my mission to really listen to my clients’ wants and needs, as well as to educate and offer advice. I can often find my clients their dream home on the first visit because I know the market, I’m familiar with communities, I have built relationships with other agents and builder sales reps, but most of all because I listened to my client. I am with my clients every step of the way, from initial consultation to inspections to negotiations to closing and beyond. My goal is to be their realtor for life!

I think what sets me apart is my strong work ethic, my personality, my knowledge, and my ability to get things done.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I love podcasts! I listen to a variety of podcasts daily. One of my favorite real estate-related podcasts is The Real Estate Bestie Podcast. Not only does Rosemary offer valuable advice, she is also very personable and relatable. Like me, she transitioned from education to real estate. Listening to her podcast is like having a conversation with a good friend.

I also enjoy the Woman Evolve podcast with Sarah Jakes Roberts and the Keep It Positive Sweetie podcast. Both of those are so inspirational and help me stay grounded as a woman, wife, mother, and friend.

My guilty pleasure is any Real Housewives show, so I also listen to the Two Judgey Girls podcast.

I am also an avid reader, and two of my recent favorites are Atomic Habits and The 12 Week Year. Both of those have been instrumental in helping me increase productivity and achieve my goals.
