Yesenia, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
In 2022, I started my corporate job but felt the desire to pursue something I could apply my creativity towards and as a single mother, I quickly recognized the need for a second income. With my passion for throwing over-the-top birthday parties for my daughter and a push from my friends and family, I launched Poosh Photobooth in October 2022 with the support of my parents.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think there’s ever a smooth road! Haha. I’d have to say my biggest challenge so far has been finding balance and self-care amongst the chaos of life. Poosh has been a huge learning curve, and I’m still learning every day as I go. Between being a full-time single mom to a busy 6-year-old dog mom, juggling a full-time job, a growing business, and maintaining a social life (woah, that’s a lot even writing it out)- I find myself moving non-stop, and I often forget to take a moment to simply breathe. However, I have discovered the power of planning my week on Sundays, and this allows me to allocate and enjoy time for myself. This balance has been a game-changer for me and allows me stay focused, rejuvenated, and more present in all aspects of my life. So, here’s YOUR reminder to prioritize your own well-being and find moments of peace amidst the hustle and bustle.

How do you define success?
To me, success means providing my daughter with everything she desires and ensuring she has every opportunity in this world to be great. I believe in showing her that hard work and dedication yields results. I want to pass on the grind and wisdom that my parents taught me so she can become the BOSS that she IS destined to be. I’m creating a legacy for my daughter, and seeing her happy and fulfilled is the ultimate measure of success in my eyes.
