Today we’d like to introduce you to Yetzabel Vieyra.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a passion for hosting and enjoy celebrating others. Having my own event venue was a dream I talked about with my mom for years. I could only imagine having a space that allowed others to celebrate life and any type of event. After finding the perfect location, I decided to go through with it and finally make my dream a reality.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Not at all. I actually had the venue for a whole year before I could actually host my first event. Dealing with the permits from the city of Houston was a total nightmare. But it taught me so much along the way. I stayed calm and just continued to try and understand the process. I had to make a few adjustments to the space before I could even go to the next steps. I learned that asking questions will eventually get you an answer.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My career has always been in Supply Chain. I have been a buyer for different industrial/oil & gas companies for 10+ years. I negotiated contracts and material pricing on the daily. At the most recent company I worked for, I got to participate in a lot of company marketing events. It made my job so much fun! Recently I have decided to take a break from Supply Chain, and help my husband grow his business. We own a supplement store named Flex Supplements. Located in East Houston as well. My background in Supply Chain has helped me so much with the negotiation of products and accounts for this store. I am so proud of how far we’ve come, and the businesses we have. We are both hard workers and ambitious, always looking to grow.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I started this business after Covid-19, but have definitely learned that social media and marketing are a big part of what will make a business thrive. It’s all about making sure people are viewing what you have to offer.
