Today we’d like to introduce you to Adriana Cook.
Hi Adriana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been writing for years it started in about 3rd grade I wanted to enter into a poetry contest, I wrote a poem called “Me” and won 2nd place. Over the years, I journaled here and there I finally wrote a couple of short stories and threw them in the closet but all of that changed in 2021 when my brother was murdered, I was crushed from the inside my heart ached a feeling I never felt before and I felt the people around me didn’t understand how I felt or what I was going through so I started back writing but I became so strong at it and I told myself I wanted to write a book that will guide me on my life’s new journey of healing from my past, removing the negative energy I had around me and healing my heart from the pain.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It started off rough I couldn’t write without crying or feeling hatred in my heart, so I felt my writings were going to be negative. I was also in the middle of my summer semester of college so I felt I was becoming to overwhelmed and wanted to give up and then come back.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Well, I’m a college student who’s studying to be a behavioral therapist and I love writing those two are my passions. I just wrote my first book “sis, let me riddle you” and I’m beyond excited to share my riddles and poetry with others, I feel that my book will uplift and inspire other women to begin their healing journey.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
My goal is to have my adult library and child development center open to the public with multiple locations.
