Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrienne Davitz.
Hi Adrienne, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Katy High School graduate. I played basketball and worked in high school. I worked four jobs at a time while I attended Sam Houston State University. After becoming a stay-at-home mom, I found myself blessed with unique opportunities to volunteer. After losing my grandmother, grandfather, and father within a few years – I started diving into my ancestry and genealogy of the area. I was so impressed by all that a local nonprofit has done to preserve and protect the history of the area.
It was incredible to see the thousands of volunteer hours that have been put into the organization over the last 4 decades. I began volunteering – and then was elected president. I have been serving as president for two years and just began my second two-year term. I am also a girl scout troop leader, chairman of a City of Katy board, Vice President of the Katy Alumni Association, and an ambassador for the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I have faced many hardships along the way. From deaths of family members, health challenges, two floods, and more. I am thankful for all that I have been through and what has brought me to where I am today. I am able to help others from the challenges I have faced.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
