Today we’re excited to be connecting with Aisha Taylor again. If you haven’t already, we suggest you check out our prior conversation with them here.
Aisha, thanks for joining us again. Just to level set a bit for folks who may have missed our last interview together, can you briefly introduce yourself?
My name is Aisha Taylor, I am author, educator, speaker, and confidence coach. I empower leaders to build resilient mindsets and elevate their emotional intelligence. My journey began after experiencing one of the most challenging moments in my life when I faced an involuntary termination. This series of events motivated me to strengthen my faith, cultivate resilience, and pursue all that God has in store for me.
Awesome, so we reached out because we wanted to hear all about what you have been up to since we last connected.
Last year was a rollercoaster of emotions for me. I experienced the loss of four family members, including my grandmother and my aunt, who was the last living immediate family member on my mother’s side and the family’s guiding force. On a brighter note, my son successfully graduated from the police academy. However, my husband underwent significant spinal surgery, which requires a lengthy recovery process. Unfortunately, I was unable to achieve any of my business objectives as they all fell through. I felt like life was slipping away, and I hadn’t made any progress toward fulfilling my purpose. To be honest, I’m not sure I’ve even taken the time to mourn; I had to stay emotionally strong for my family.
This year, I am committed to making progress. As Shirley Chisholm wisely said, “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair.” I am eager to host my own events. Aspire the Journey, LLC is thrilled to organize a women’s empowerment event, a networking opportunity, and a student-led empowerment gathering. Additionally, I hope to complete my second book and look forward to exciting collaborations ahead.
