Hi Alex, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started collecting Astros fitted ball caps in late 2021. I was buying & got hooked to the fitted ball caps & could not stop buying. I started to really meet people with the same common interest as me & decided to bring all of us together as one & that’s how the Idea of BYOF started. I wanted to put a face to the people I was buying from/selling to also. The first event was a complete success & we are blessed to be going into our 6th event to celebrate our 1-year anniversary of the BYOF brand.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
By no means this has not been a smooth road to start there was already somebody hosting events, but those people had more credibility than me & bigger connections I just was 1 guy pitching a too good to be true idea to a FB group audience & luckily with the doubters & adversity we overcame & became an overnight success.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I work a 9 to 5 doing diesel mechanic work for an oil field company. What sets me apart from others is my love for the fitted culture / streetwear small business merch creator culture.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check out?
The best apps that have helped me really promote the business were social media pages such as FB & Instagram.
