Today we’d like to introduce you to Alley Leto.
Hi Alley, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Thank you so much for having me. I guess I will start from 2016. I was going through a very challenging time and I needed a positive outlet to channel my energy. I decided I wanted to explore the whole digital side of creation and storytelling. I created Life of Alley in early 2016. My vision was to create a space on the web where women could find inspiration and encouragement. My main intention was and still is, to help other women by sharing my own personal experiences while sharing things relating to home, style, and everyday life. I didn’t want to be a typical “influencer”. I wanted it to be more of a self -help sort of account since at the time I really didn’t see a ton of accounts online like that. I wanted to be that outlet for women since I was on a journey to doing that for myself too. I still am on that journey 🙂
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Oh gosh, nothing about this has been smooth. It’s difficult when you are going through hard times personally all while sharing your life online. There’s this balancing act that takes place with what to share and what not to share. I think that’s been a big challenge for me since I know once I open up with my full story women everywhere will find comfort in knowing they are not alone. Another challenge has been that this industry moves very quickly. It’s constantly evolving and changing. Which means, you need to quickly adapt to those changes and allow yourself to still remain authentically true to yourself. It definitely keeps you on your toes for sure.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Every day is different. Being able to create, share my life journey online has been one of the most fascinating things I have ever done. It’s truly remarkable to be able to connect with others online in a way I never thought possible. My readers have become a big part of my life and story. Some have been following along since I started and have always been incredibly supportive. I feel what sets me apart is that I am not afraid of getting vulnerable with my readers. They respect that from me.
What’s next?
I see something big scale. Something that will allow me to help women every where. Maybe an inspirational self-help book and also developing conferences geared towards helping women navigate through life’s challenges when they feel alone and isolated.
