Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Nwosu.
Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
My story began many many years ago as a young teenager battling problematic skin. I have struggled with acne for as long as I can remember, experiencing periods of clear skin followed by frustrating breakouts.
In 2020 during the pandemic, my acne resurfaced, and it was the worst it had ever been. It was a distressing time for me because the products that had once worked for me were no longer effective. I felt worried and concerned about whether my skin problems would ever resolve.
Eventually, I realized that I needed to go back to basics and focus on healing my body from the inside out. Thankfully, my breakouts gradually improved as I identified the root cause of my skin issues. However, I was left with areas of hyperpigmentation and acne scarring.
I underwent several different treatments to reduce the appearance of the discoloration, but unfortunately, the last treatment worsened the condition of my skin and caused burns. It was at that moment that I decided to find a solution that would be effective without causing further damage to my skin.
Once I discovered a regimen that yielded positive results for me, I then decided to share my experience and offer products to help others facing similar concerns with their skin.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My journey has been far from easy. With no prior business background, I had to begin my entrepreneurial endeavors from the ground up. Instead of being discouraged by the challenges I faced, I embraced them as opportunities for growth and learning. Each stumbling block has given me valuable insights and lessons that have fueled my determination to persevere. Also, managing all aspects of my business while juggling the responsibilities of running a household and maintaining a 9-5 has presented its own set of challenges. However, my passion for what I do and my belief in the quality of the products and services my business provides keep me motivated.
Thanks – so, what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Having spent a significant portion of my professional career in the medical field, I have acquired a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing. Throughout my experience as a nurse, my devotion to helping and caring for others has remained the same. I am so excited to be able to channel my dedication towards assisting a unique set of individuals. At Naiya’s Skin Fix, our mission goes beyond treating skin conditions. We strive to empower individuals to feel comfortable, confident, and beautiful in their own skin.
What were you like growing up?
During my childhood, I was quite shy, but I developed a profound love for the performing arts. It’s surprising to people when I share with them that I’m a vocalist and have been singing since the age of 10. I’ve also had the opportunity to showcase my vocal talents at a few local venues in Houston. Singing has always held a special place in my heart, and I hope to get back to performing in the near future. Who knows, maybe 2024 will be the year I do that!
