Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Pitre.
Hi Andrea, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for photography began long before I ever imagined owning a business. As a little girl in Port Arthur, I was always the one with a camera in my hand, capturing family gatherings, special occasions, and the little moments that often went unnoticed. I loved how a single photograph could preserve a memory forever.
As life became busier with marriage, work, and raising, photog my two beautiful daugthers, Ferron and Emily, photography remained a passion tucked away in my heart. I continued taking pictures whenever I could, especially of my children as they grew. Looking back now, those photographs have become some of my family’s greatest treasures.
Everything changed when my oldest daughter was preparing to graduate from high school. Like every proud parent, I wanted graduation photos that truly reflected this milestone for my daughter. I wanted images that captured not only the her accomplishments, but also the personality, excitement, and dreams of the my young adult.
That experience reignited something inside me. I realized there were other families just like mine—families who wanted more than posed pictures. They wanted memories they could hold onto for a lifetime.
With encouragement from family and friends, I took a leap of faith and turned a lifelong passion into a business.
Today, every session I photograph is absolutely personal. Whether it’s a graduation, family portrait, engagement, birthday, or another special milestone, I know these are moments that can never be recreated. I don’t just take pictures—I tell stories through my lens, capturing genuine smiles, heartfelt emotions, and memories that families will cherish for generations to come.
Photography is more than a profession. It’s my purpose. Every click of the camera is an opportunity to preserve a piece of someone’s story, just as I wanted to preserve my own child’s graduation. And there is no greater honor than being trusted to capture the moments that matter most.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Owning a small photography business hasn’t been easy, but it’s something I truly love. People often only see the photo session, but there’s so much that happens behind the scenes—from answering emails and scheduling sessions to editing photos, marketing, and running the business. There are busy seasons when I’m constantly on the go and slower seasons that remind me to keep pushing and growing. Like any small business owner, I’ve faced challenges, but each one has helped me become a better photographer and business owner. At the end of the day, it’s all worth it.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Although photography is not my full-time career, it gives me a fulfillment that is hard to fully explain. It’s something that brings me joy and allows me to be creative while doing something meaningful. Because family means so much to me, I would say family portraits and weddings are where my heart truly is. I love love—the connections, the laughter, the little moments between people that sometimes happen without anyone noticing. Those are the moments I want to capture.
Being from a smaller city, one of the challenges I’ve faced is the oversaturation of people calling themselves “photographers.” With so many options available, it can be hard to stand out and show people the difference between simply taking a picture and truly capturing a moment.
I’m known for creating a comfortable and relaxed environment where people can be themselves. I want my clients to feel like they aren’t just posing for a photo, but that we’re capturing a real moment in their story. I know there are many talented photographers out there, but I believe this what sets me apart – the personal touch I bring to every session. I want my clients to walk away with more than just pretty pictures—I want them to remember the fun, the experience and the memories of their session.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
At the end of the day, photography is something that truly brings me joy. What started as a simple love for capturing moments has grown into something that allows me to connect with people and preserve memories they can hold onto forever. I’m grateful for every person who trusts me with their special moments, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly.
My business is not just about taking pictures—it’s about creating experiences, telling stories, and capturing the little pieces of life that mean the most. I’m excited to continue growing, learning, and doing what I love while helping others keep their memories alive. I’m so thankful for everyone who trusts me to capture their memories. Every session is different, every story is special, and that’s what makes this journey so much fun. I’m excited to keep growing, keep learning, and keep doing what I love—helping people hold onto the moments they never want to forget.
