Today we’d like to introduce you to Arin Thompson.
Hi Arin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My most cherished memories of being a little girl with my grandma was looking through photo albums with her. I loved seeing the memories and imagining the stories they represented. Fast forward to 2023, I was postpartum with my fifth baby and I decided now was the time to try out photography. Im a big believer in if. you have an interest in something you should follow it and see where it goes. I’ve followed several dreams of mine over the years and some have turned out amazing and some have fizzled out. You never know what you can accomplish or will enjoy until you try. Evervine Photography has been a gift and a dream come true.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Honestly, it has been pretty smooth. The biggest hurdle is marketing to find clients! I go through seasons of having several sessions a weekend to having nothing for a whole month! I’m a believer and credit God to directing my path, so anytime it is a slow season I assume God wants my focus on other things. I trust He will provide and the right opportunities with come along. I am a big YES girl too! I love to say yes to new experiences and I will photograph anything that makes me excited!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My photography niche is motherhood, however I’ll accept any offer as long as it sounds fun.
I truly believe motherhood is amazing and all mothers are rock stars. How cool is it that I get to celebrate mothers as a job??? The bond between a woman and her child is what motivates me in all my sessions. As a mother myself I know how fleeting the moments are, especially the newborn season! I help mothers see and treasure their beauty.
I developed postpartum preeclampsia with my last baby and had a very difficult recovery and that has helped shape my story telling with new mothers. I approach my sessions calm and relaxed, so they don’t have to feel stressed or overwhelmed. Part of my storytelling magic is that I can capture the beauty and hide the insecurities of new motherhood. My approach is that you might not feel your best right now, but you are BEAUTIFUL and we will highlight the connection you have with your new baby!!
My ability to read the room in the sessions and feel the emotions help my photography storytelling. I can capture the story quickly and intentionally or I go slow and draw out the emotions. I will adapt to the style of photographer needed and capture the love and connection with each family!
