Today we’d like to introduce you to Arnold Escobar.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
We basically started like many other people wanting to live the American Dream. I say “we” because we did it together as a family. Hard work and perseverance along with a passion for satisfying our customers with the most delicious snow-cones and treats has been our philosophy at Armadillo SnoCones. We have had many hardships and have had some hits and misses, but the support we get from our customers has really been a big factor in pushing us forward.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has been a rocky road for sure! We do not get discouraged though! We have a strong family and have good health, so we are extremely blessed. As cheesy and cliche as it sounds, it is hard to stay discouraged when you have love and family. There has been times when we have been down, like when we were victims of a crime here at the Armadillo. Some thieves robbed us and we lost a lot, but our customers rallied us and picked us up and pushed us to keep going. The pandemic and the big freeze of 2020 have also hit us hard.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My main focus at Armadillo Snow Cones is to make the best snow cones in Houston. I’m extremely proud of the caring family all of our customers have become, they make coming to work not feel like work.
Any big plans?
Our plans include beautifying the Armadillo location to further accommodate our guests. Our biggest plan of all is to keep making quality snacks and expand our delicious menu!!
