Daily Inspiration: Meet Ashley Adams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Adams.

Hi Ashley , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I grew up in North Houston, left for Austin in college, then spent 10 years in LA chasing my dream of becoming a TV personality. When COVID hit, coming back to Texas made the most sense, so I bought a vintage camper and turned it into a mobile coffee shop to keep things going between gigs.

I’ve always been drawn to secondhand everything — thrift shopping has basically been part of my DNA since I was a kid, and my mom even briefly owned an antique shop off 1488. In 2020, I started sewing my own clothes, shopping almost exclusively secondhand, and building what eventually became Tumbleweed — a mix of my two biggest obsessions: coffee and vintage.

While mostly popping up at vintage markets all over Austin, I also conduct my business in Montgomery county and wanted to bring that same energy back to my hometown, so as a side project, I launched MOCO VINTAGE MARKET in March 2026. Our first market had 18+ vendors in an incredible space and completely popped off, so now we’re gearing up for an even bigger one on June 27th with 24+ unique vendors under one roof.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
well, I while in Los Angeles, I bought a vintage camper in 2018 with intention to renovate it to move back eventually to Texas. Long story short, I bought it in Oregon and got demolished in transit back to Texas. So I basically thought that was a sign NOT to travel this mobile coffee shop path. Then, the actual right camper appeared 6 months later IN WILLIS (which was so close to my family) so my bro in law went and picked it up for me and it was meant to be.
Then, we sent it to be renovated in January of 2020 not knowing COVID was around the corner in March! So as it turned out, the camper was in the shop for over 500 days for the next two years due to supply and demand issues. It’s been a long road!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a creative entrepreneur who’s built my career around storytelling, aesthetics, and creating experiences people actually want to be part of. I spent 10 years in Los Angeles with a career in television and entertainment, which taught me how to connect with people, build a brand, and create things that feel authentic and visually memorable. I helped co-create a YouTube cooking channel (with over 1million subscribers) called Feast of Fiction and did that for over 10 years. I’m also a cookbook author 🙂

When I moved back to Texas, I combined my lifelong love of vintage, fashion, coffee, and community into Tumbleweed — a mobile coffee shop and creative brand rooted in secondhand culture and intentional living. I also taught myself how to sew and began creating and styling pieces through a more sustainable lens, which completely changed the way I approached fashion and creativity.

What I’m probably most proud of currently is creating MOCO VINTAGE MARKET. I saw that my hometown was missing the kind of curated vintage market scene I loved in Austin, so instead of waiting for it to exist, I built it myself. Our first market launched with 18+ vendors and an incredible turnout, and now it’s quickly growing into a real creative community.

I think what sets me apart is my ability to blend worlds that don’t always overlap — entertainment, fashion, coffee, vintage culture, design, and community building — and make them feel cohesive, elevated, and approachable all at once.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I always have had the mindset of accomplishing every goal I have ever set for myself. It’s probably called blind audacity. I believe that if you believe you can do something, the universe will find a way to make it happen for you and that’s always what I’ve done – bet on myself. Also, nothing good comes easy.
