Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Flowers.
Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Photography is something that has always been a part of my life. Ever since I was a little girl I can remember having a camera in hand. Growing up, I would dress my little sister up to have photoshoots in our backyard with my Polaroid camera, as I became a teenager I started taking photos for my friends and family. As I have grown older and had a family of my own, I have realized how difficult it can be as a mom to not only get good quality photos of your children but to be included in those photos yourself. I love providing my clients, who are mostly moms like myself, with photos of their families that they can cherish for years to come. As a mom myself, I completely understand how difficult it can be to take photos with little ones. I love to take the stress out of photos for my clients and take a more relaxed approach. We laugh, play, and let the kiddos guide our sessions. I love hearing clients say how amazed they are with how smooth the session was. When I started my business, I mostly worked with seniors and families, Most recently I have added branding photography to my sessions and have had the opportunity to work with some pretty amazing and inspiring people. Not only do I love working with my clients but I also love hearing their stories, where they started and what inspired them to take that leap and start a business of their own. We have a lot of fun working together to create sessions that are not only unique to them and their business but that also showcase their personalities and catch the attention of their potential customers.
As a photographer, I am always looking to better myself for my clients. Whether that be by upgrading my gear or taking classes, I am constantly learning how to be the absolute best I can be. When my clients book with me I want them to feel like they are getting the absolute best.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Photography itself is something that has always come naturally for me, and is something that I have always been passionate about. The biggest struggle has been learning to balance my home/work life. The wonderful thing about working for myself is that I am also able to stay home with my babies, but the struggle comes with learning to balance everything from scheduling clients, editing, sending galleries and giving my babies the attention they deserve. Thankfully I have a wonderful supportive husband and family who is always willing to help me.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the owner and photographer of Belle Rose Photography. I specialize in family, senior, and branding sessions. I think what I am most known for is my client-focused work. I love to create images with beautiful, vibrant colors and uniquely tailored aesthetics. I hand-edit each image and choose arrangements based on what will really make my clients pop in each curated photo. I am also known for my relaxed approach to sessions. I want families/people to not only have a great experience working with me, but to also take home a wonderful memory of being with each other. Family pictures are something that I strive for my clients to look forward to every year. Another important aspect of my work is my method to posing. I often hear comments such as “I’ve always wanted to have photos done but I don’t know how to pose” or “I’m not comfortable in front of the camera.” I want my clients to not only have beautiful images but to also look and feel their absolute best while having them taken. I’m not afraid to say, “hey you know what, I’m not really feeling this pose let’s try something else”. I regularly have clients referred to me who say they were told, “oh, don’t worry, Ashley will pose you.” It makes me laugh, but I take your entire photo experience personally and believe it’s my job to ensure the best results possible.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I think the most important thing to my success is building relationships with my clients. I want them to not only receive beautiful images but to feel that I truly care about them and their families. I strive to provide my clients with the absolute best experience from start to finish.
