Daily Inspiration: Meet Ayse Oren

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ayse Oren.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
This world in which we live is built on ideas. Everything we see is the projection of an idea. Creativity manifests itself through the awareness and mental processes of the individual. I define art as the result of human interaction with creation in a mental process. Individual perception, discernment, cognition, appreciation, understanding, and point of view makes each artist’s creation unique like a fingerprint. Through art, I want to express my existence and leave behind my fingerprints.

My goal is to continue this journey and study the unseen world inside us to shed light upon it. A major creative force has been using of abstraction, symbolism, and layers of meaning whether working in two or three dimensions. Many of my paintings invoke energy and depth, bringing the viewer into the work and challenging assumptions about the physical world. Building upon my architectural background, I apply these same forces in three-dimensional work, namely in sculpture and designs, which I illustrate with three examples.

My award-winning Michael Jackson sculpture transforms layers of symbolism into geometric forms conveying the exchange of matter and energy. I placed the King of Pop within his initials that symbolize a royal cape and crown and bent towards the world via his gravity-defying dance. His light and shadow over the world symbolize his ongoing influence over modern culture.

The table design “Paradox” portrays the force of our inner conflicts. The translucent tabletop symbolizes the separation of the conscious and subconscious minds, while the steel tubes represent thoughts which transcend the two.

Lastly, the “Connection” bench suggests interpersonal bonds, both seen and unseen, the latter often more powerful. Visible bonds strengthen the design both in metaphorical and physical ways and add unity like a spiral galaxy.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I believe in the transformative power of the 21st century and want to express my talents and abilities on international platforms. As an artist, I try to change my perceptions of the world, think beyond my old patterns and renew my knowledge. Creating new gateways, aiming to rise higher, and progressing until you reach is the best version of a design is the ultimate goal. To create an impact on society and be able to transform it into something better is the challenge.

When I free myself from restrictions and dualities and pass beyond the understanding of good and bad, I strive to be a platform through which a universal state of mind creates potent art. I am driven to move my art beyond our gravity-locked existence to gain ways of seeing deeper meaning this can be a struggle for an artist.

Art is a type of research done for different needs and also done with a different goal. It is revealing the cover looking behind the curtain really trying to understand the very basic and core questions of our life and our existence. The same way as the physicists are building their big tunnels to have the atoms flying around because they want to go to the next step of truth. Every artistic work has to do with this search for the rules digging and understanding what is behind our existence.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Ayşe Oren DesignArt is established to reach them better and the newer by combining what we have with what society needs. In this century, it is important to combine our point of view and what we have in hand with our imagination to come up with designs to meet the needs of the future.

My aim is to be a link between design, art and science, ensure the design is accepted as part of the research and development activities, create new products to meet new requirements through establishing a multi-disciplined system combining technology and design, and develop new and universal understanding, perception and language of art.

One of the proudest moments of my life was when I am honored by the Republic of France as ‘Future Leader’ in the year 2017. Then I understand I did add value to what I am doing and motivates me to continue in my own way.
