Daily Inspiration: Meet Blk Gurl Luxury

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blk Gurl Luxury

Hi BLK GURL, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey as an artist directly out of college. Before graduating from high school I knew that I wanted to pursue a music career. I briefly shared my interest with some family and they didn’t take me seriously. I also knew that I wanted to experience going to college especially because it’s what my mother wanted me to do; as she got pregnant with me at the age of 16 and didn’t get to experience graduating from high school. I am a 1st generation college graduate. And that, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE FOR ME.

After I graduated from my HBCU, I immediately started my music career. I was always inspired by the culture, and lifestyle of my city and the big named artists that I grew up listening to like Rick Ross, Trina, Jacki- O, and Trick Daddy just to name a few. And when it comes to fashion, that will always have my heart.

My ex boyfriend actually was the first person to take me to a studio and I instantly fell in love with creating from there. I am and have been an independent artist since then.

Through my journey I became a business owner and have learned how to hustle and balance the two. I currently own a e commerce store, short term rental host, and teach others how to run their Airbnb business. Being from Miami teaches you how to be a hustler, and I am the epitome of that.

My hustle and diligence has now brought me to Houston, Texas and I look forward to what happens in my journey next.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a music artist, song writer, model and creative. I specialize in my uniqueness and take pride in having my own sound and look. I’m known for being a rapper that looks like a R&B singer. Lol. I’m also known for my boldness with fashion and ability to storytell. I think I am most proud of continuing my journey non the less. What sets me apart is my lyricism.

How do you define success?
I define success by the amount of people that you are able to help along the way. The impact you have and the size of your bank account. We won’t ever act as if money isn’t a major issue.
