Daily Inspiration: Meet Bonnie Hubert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bonnie Hubert.

Bonnie Hubert

Hi Bonnie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.

At 21 years old, I got married to my husband Skeeter Hubert, and by age 41 I had four kids and college degrees, all while working full-time and undertaking several side hustles along the way. I have always and still do believe that when women surround themselves with support, they can simultaneously create a successful career and thriving family. My career focus has been education and counseling so over the last 2 decades, I have logged over 10,000 hours of professional counseling and educational coaching. I have also had countless personal and professional opportunities to coach others. From professional counseling settings to in-home gatherings of women. and presentations to large professional groups, I have taught effective strategies for mental and physical health, mindset and limitless thinking. How could I have the time to do all that while raising a family, staying fit, and serving in the community? Simply put, it is because I had a vision for my life, and I chose not to do it alone.

Some call me ambitious; some call me driven, and others marvel with a tone of incredulousness, asking ‘How in the world can you do everything you do?’ My answer is always the same. ‘It takes a village!’ That’s the simple, easy answer that lets me off the hook of explaining the actual answer. The actual answer is more multi-dimensional. It’s what all people need to know but don’t necessarily want to know. The actual answer is what makes the possible turn into probable. It’s what calls out to people everywhere and demands an answer. “Will you do what it takes if you know how? Will you step out with the audacity to believe no vision is unreasonable and then do what it takes, for as long as it takes, to be able to live your best life?

I wrote my book “Every Woman Needs a Maid” women answer that question with a resounding YES!” Everyday I work to educate and coach women on how use their “village” to set themselves up for success in whatever they choose to do in life. That’s is my mission!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I consider myself blessed in every way. Through God’s grace and never-ending love for me, I have had the strength to walk through and rise above significant obstacles and challenges in my life. Reflecting on the obstacles & challenges takes me back to my youth, where I faced cultural discrimination and endured sexual abuse for 5 years at the hands of a family acquaintance. Those experiences gave me reasons to shut down and give up, but I refused to allow the evil that infiltrated my young life to dictate what I can become. Much like a car battery needs both negative and positive charges to create power. I decided to use the negative and traumatic experiences as fuel paired with all the positive experiences; I’ve had to create power to reach my potential… and I’m not done yet!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
