Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Adams
Hi Brandy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Brandy Ms.ITellJokes Adams born in Houston, TX 1987 is a young comic with her foot in the door of the comedy world at just 25 as she would say “I have been getting it in” I’m not well known but somebody you know have seen me!” This clean comic bases her comic style to the statue of being a clean Monique or Sommore. She has performed in over 50 churches across the Texas area. Brandy has been on Houston based radio station 97.9, Majic 102.1 The Erica Campbell ( Mary Mary) morning show also toured with Eddie B from the “Teachers Only Comedy Tour” and is currently apart of “The Teachers Lounge Comedy Tour”. Brandy has worked with countless national and local touring comedians. Brandy has released 3 comedy specials “Brandy Adams Live” “Brandy Adams “They finally let me back in the church” ,”That’s Dumb Vol. 1”. Brandy has starred in two feature films “Trouble in the Jones Family “ and when “Sis’tus Cry”.
She is the CEO and founder of “MakeMeLaughEntertainment” a company Brandy started to help other local comics” because it’s hard to get noticed and I feel as if, if I can help someone else I’ll be satisfied I’m one of the featured artist on the R.I.S.E DVD which dropped in December of 2009 Featured artists such as Just Brittany ,Slimm Thugg,Gifted,and a lot of other great local and national artists.and most recently brandy has filmed her own 30-minute special live from the Houston Improv entitled “ they finally let me back in the church”2011 .She has hosted shows with Greg Stewart from the play Tyler Perry “Why Did I Get Married “I performed in a national recording play by the name of “When Sistas Cry” written by Jayme Clark and directed by Curtis Von I’ve also performed at the Humble Civic Centre ,The Plano Civic Centre with her break out performance at the HOUSTON IMPROV’S first MLK Comedy Celebration on January 17’2010 followed by Arlington Improv the next month. She has opened up for Thea Vidale The Monique Show’s Rodney Perry. Also her second stand-up comedy DVD is currently under way the name since has changed and the release date but soon and very soon I prooooooooommmmmmisssseeeee! If it’s out of town I’m going GETTING IT INNNNN!!!!! Brandy has opened up for countless gospel national and local recording artists the list goes on and on. I her own words “I just Bless GOD because I might not be the best but I strive for it every day I work hard and I had to learn early that nothing is handed to you, you have to pray and take every chance you get so do not hate small beginnings!!!Because right I’m a little monster but one day I’m gon be a beast!!!!!!” As Brandy continues to pave her way to the top her dreams are becoming more relevant and pretty soon Comic View, Mega Fest in Dallas and Atlanta, and Improvs ,national tours across the country and overseas most importantly to be one of the GREATEST Comic in the World will know of this true southern bell Brandy knows that hard work and determination and TEFLON skin play a major part in the process BUT GOD knows her heart and with this gift she shall and will bless the nations!!!!!! And many doors are being opened “I’ve meet so many great people who have dropped knowledge on me every step and I’m grateful to be used as a vessel. And I want stray away from my calling to bless the nation”.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No!!! Comedy had changed so much over the years. Your followers matter. Whereas previous years your funny was you way! You have to stay relevant. People will steal your material!!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a comedian who happens to be a teacher and I’m good at both! Honestly considering leaving teaching and go g full time comic it time! I’m a Special Education teacher I love my babies! Movies, skits, etc.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Be honest, respectful , set boundaries and be original stay truth to you. No one on this earth can tell your story like you you got this!
