Daily Inspiration: Meet Briseida Gaona

Today we’d like to introduce you to Briseida Gaona.

Briseida, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always loved crafts. My Godson was born in 2011, and I remember making a diaper cake with the help of a good friend for my sister’s baby shower. Ever since then I’ve crafted decor for his birthdays as well as other family members.

In 2016 I had my first baby and for his first birthday celebration I wanted a backdrop with paper leaves but I didn’t have a cricut so I hand cut all the leaves. It wasn’t until late 2020 that I invested in a cricut machine with no intention of opening up my own business.

In May 2022, I decided to finally listen to my family and opened up my Etsy shop along with my social media accounts. I named my business after my family. Both of my boy’s initials are triple G so I came up with GGG & Co. Crafts (pronounced triple G and co crafts). The GGG for both of my sons and the & Co. for my husband and I.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I don’t think any business has smooth roads. I am a stay-at-home mom to my two boys who are six and two. I also homeschool my six-year-old. My husband coaches our son’s soccer team and I am his assistant. It’s very challenging balancing being a Mom, wife, daughter, sister, crafter, and teacher but by the grace of God, it can be done. And if I can do it anyone can!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
GGG & Co. Crafts specializes in personalized party decor. I can create cake toppers, cupcake toppers, birthday banners, gable boxes, personalized pringles, and oversized characters made of cardstock to brighten up your celebrations. You send me your ideas and I bring them to life.

I am most proud of putting my work out there for anyone to see. For many years my family would tell me to offer my creativity and set up my online shop and I would say no (mainly because I was scared that no one would be interested). May of 2022 was my niece’s first birthday celebration and I made so many Alice in Wonderland characters of cardstock and I had so much fun creating them. I realized then I wanted to keep creating magical moments for others.

My attention to detail is what I believe sets me apart from others. There is no such thing as perfect but I have very high standards when it comes to putting an item together for a customer.

Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory is having dinner with my Dad, Mom and little sister. Monday through Friday we would have dinner together at 6:00 PM. My mom is an amazing cook and an excellent baker.
